The main characters are Vito and Wilhelm which names mean full of life and strong-willed warrior.

We are developing The Reward into a series (along with a comic and DnD campaign book) you can see the now finished campaign at:

The Reward was made at The Animation Workhop. It is directed by Mikkel Mainz and Kenneth Ladekjer, Bros for life. See end credits for the team :) We now made Sun Creature Studio, a company made to bring you more series and films like this (Together with Bo Juhl). For more about The Reward:

Fine, you just made me create an account so I could write how awesome this movie is and, well, it's SO DAMN AWESOME!!! I loved this plain character setting of the simple minded optimist Vito and the sharp and lightly furious Wilhelm, they're very complementary. Also all the details of the world (like those Bamboo-Bears) were really lively and made me curious about this whole world. I kind of was reminded of a lot of Animes like Princess Mononoke & Chihiro (world-design & artwork) or One Piece (mostly of character-design & -concept and story). At the end friendship and becoming someone you want to be is the greatest treasure of 'em all.
Don't stop with this! I know, you wanted to show Vito's and Wilhelm's story just for getting started with your story and then go on with other adventurers, but please show us more of them anyhow. Best shortmovie on Newgrounds so far!

I've never had any animation move me so much without the use of deep meaningful lines. Actions truly do speak louder than words in this case.

Here we get to see a couple of nobodies start a journey together, forging a friendship in the blazing hot fires of an adventure, losing that friendship in a city of vices, only to rekindle that friendship even stronger in a touching act of redemption.
Then they move on with that strengthened bond, and basically face the world together, eventually reaching their goal, disappointed in what they find until realizing that the true goal was never to find a material reward. It was to find true friendship. A bond never to be broken. A connection that can stand against any hardship, any trial, any battle.
...And then they pass on this treasure to the next pair of hopeless nobodies they happen across, finally riding off into the sunset with possibly two new party members to take along for the next adventure!

Nothing has ever before made me laugh, cry, ooh, ahh, or aww, all in the span of nine minutes and one second. I swear to you, if I had the money to spare, I would help with the kickstarter. I'd love to see this as an animated series. It's just so...Full of emotion. My soul may implode if it actually had dialogue.

This is probably because I've been up for a good 24 hours now and I'm extremely emotionally vulnerable. Hahah! Still, even if I wasn't emotionally vulnerable, this would probably still one of the best, if not THE best, animation I've ever seen!
