Can you discover the secrets of these cryptic shorts?

For reviewers (problems already noted):
--Watch the movie first--

- Menu screen (arguably) is a bit gimmicky and unclear.
-- (Decky) Buttons should have been clearer and it could have used a title.
- The shorts are generally confusing and unclear as to their meaning.
- The Shorts are depressing in an unbalanced way (similar to Papers).
- Pacing / animation speed issues in the bunny scene
- Grinding noise in the bunny short could have been accompanied by something to the effect of a "ripping flesh noise", but I felt that was pushing the morbidity a little far.
- Shading on the pixel-art is a bit "pillowy" in some places (pixel artists will know what that means).
- No indication that secrets are present.

I don't know what to make of this. I watched three shorts and while I found all of them entertaining in one way or another, I'm highly confused, haha.

Also, I think the shorts are too depressing. While the bunny short shows some kind of morbid "Happy Tree Friends" humour, I found the third short with the plant was very depressing. A plant struggling to live, but getting a hit on the "head" every time... wow, not something I could watch every day.

Anyway, the presentation is very well done. And I also like some more serious flashes on Newgrounds.

Surn responds:

Again, it looks like I was a little too vague with the meaning here (although it may help to "reposition" your "view" once you've figured out the mechanism). I'm glad you found enjoyment from it, despite how depressing it was.

I really did enjoy this flash especially the level of macabre humour involved, although I do have some thoughts about how it could have been improved. For example, it isn't very clear about anything really, the menu doesn't even give any indication that it is one until you move the mouse and find out that the white dot is your mouse. Also you have mentioned "secrets" I'm not sure what they are but I did get two different endings for one short, for some reason.

On the plus side I really think this is one of the best, if not the best flash I have ever come across in The Review Request Club so far and you don't get compliments as big as that easy. If only you had just put a title on the top of the menu and made the buttons more clear it'd be getting a much higher score.

I'd like to see more creepy shorts from you in the future, keep it up.

"you have mentioned "secrets" I'm not sure what they are ..."

If you're still curious, try reading the first review for this cartoon by Handsome Tyler.

Well, I'm glad you like it. If you liked this then I'd recommend "aufeis".

" If only you had just put a title on the top of the menu and made the buttons more clear it'd be getting a much higher score. "

I was going for a minimalist, enigmatic approach, but I'll admit: it kind of sabotaged the final product. I'll note that in the author comments.

Thanks for reviewing.

I must say, this truly deserves to be on the Frontpage. It's so darn-well made, it's kinda scary.

And speaking of scary, this sorta was. It don't exactly know if this has deeper meaning behind it. I suck at Psychology.

It also reminds me of Demonophobia, but less gory.

Surn responds:

Glad you like it. As for the meaning, people seem generally confused about it.

All I was able to notice is, there is always some sort of bad; in many different ways, shapes and forms.
Other than that, I wasn't able to understand much until reading a few of the other reviews and your responses.

Surn responds:

I should probably try to be more clear next time. Glad you liked it.

Enviorments. Some are not suited for others. Even though you may want to freind another being, doing so will be at your own risk. Enviorment: Beware who you freind, because they may want you to be a friend, even if it kills you.

Rats are smarter than mice, for the mouse quickly decided the hamburger was not food. The man died a little, because he said, "Sup". He is the cyan man, he's been a hamburger before. the mouse did not eat him, for it had already eaten, again and again.

And the plant thing that cant seem to get to it's home.

Is it the enviorment about where one belongs but cannot get too?

Surn responds:

Well, that's the closest anyone's come to "getting it" as far as the bunny scene is concerned. The other meanings you drew from it, while they were pretty good too even if they weren't what I intended.
