UPDATED! New features include:
-You can optionally make the Ninja Fridges gray instead of white, but you can't get the "MFNF" medal with this option set.
-You can disable explosions from jumping, but there will be a slight delay after each jump where you cannot jump.
-You can now sync your medals to Newgrounds in the options menu. I think.
-Jumps, LiftPoles, the Outhouse, and Slalom Gates should no longer explode when you hit them at any time. Theoretically.
-Hopefully fixed a few menu glitches.
-Perhaps an Easter Egg and other small changes.

I'm not sure when you'll be able to see this update, and you may need to clear your cache (is that how the internet works?), but I think it will greatly improve your free-skiing experience!

Also, a BIG THANK YOU to every who has left kind words about my game! It means a lot to me when people leave feedback (even the negative feedback), so thank you for taking the time to do so!

EDIT: Thank you so much for the front page, Newgrounds! When developers are given chances like this, it reminds me of why Newgrounds is the best site ever! Never change, and thanks again!

HOW TO PLAY:
Option 1: Use the Mouse to aim your guy and Click to jump
Option 2: Left and Right to turn, Up to stop, Down to go full speed, and Space to jump.
Other keys do other things...

COMMENTS:
This game. This ******* game. This has been a game I've been working on for almost two years now. I was making this before Feed the Children, but I wanted to release it in the winter and could never finish it before it was over.

Well now it's here, so enjoy.

And also, my apologies.

Really? Front page while still under judgment? That's... kinda weird. Not that I'm complaining, though, since it's fairly well-made. A couple of gripes, though... the controls aren't nearly as precise as in the original SkiFree, a fact that is particularly glaring in the Slalom mode when I struggle to clear most of the gates. Also, humorous though it may be, it gets kinda frustrating whenever your character explodes for no reason at seemingly random times. But all in all, a good time-waster, kinda like the original SkiFree was.

DBuck-Eye responds:

Yeah, I don't know why it seemed to be Under Judgment for so long, but I was happy to have it on the front page regardless. As for the imprecise controls, have you tried the mouse? I think the motion is much smoother, which I prefer, though I guess that does kind of mean less precise. I'm glad you could waste time with it!

I liked a lot of the elements and gameplay that you provided. My only qualms with the game is how not in control you are. Getting some of the medals like hitting 5 snowmen or dogs were fun, but became too frustrating when death occurred too often to become enjoyable. I felt that I was dying too much to enjoy a lot that the game had to offer. While this made the game last longer, as it's not too large from what I could tell, it brought down how I felt about it overall. Very well done however, and perhaps by expanding upon this you can create a bigger sequel?

DBuck-Eye responds:

I think it's pretty big, have you explored everything? :) And yeah, there was a bunch of stuff that I wanted to put in this game, but it would never have been finished if I did, so I hope what's there is enough, and maybe you'll see more in a sequel some day :)

I like the tribute to SkiFree, but I really don't understand why I would randomly blow up when trying to jump (unless you're trying to make us less reliant on jumping and actually develop some skill at dodging). Also, using the psychedelic vision to dodge fridges (or just having it start randomly) might not sit well with people who are prone to seizures. Perhaps the fridges should show up as an off-white color: something that blends in with the snow WITHOUT being completely invisible.

DBuck-Eye responds:

The reason for the jump explosions is exactly what you pointed out, actually. As for the fridge thing, that's not a bad idea...

Hey man, I'm on to you! Think we wouldn't notice those trees sneaking around! Its a really good game that left me to waste a good hour and a half of my life on! I like the retro style, keep it up!

DBuck-Eye responds:

I'm glad that you liked it man! Please ignore the trees.

200 meter/second, let's see... That's about 900KM/hour or 400m/h. Sweet, I almost broke the sound barrier by sliding down a mountain!

I don't think this game takes itself too serious so I don't see any reason to be a tight-ass about the game. It's simple, crude and straight-forward. The limitations are obvious (cheap sound effects, no power-ups) but that's okay because I didn't expect those, considering the simple graphics.

Good luck on your next game!

DBuck-Eye responds:

Thanks man! Speed was really in pixels/second, even though a meter was ~4 pixels, relatively. I was gonna fix that, but, in my opinion, why ski at 40m/s, when you could do 200?
