The Gangnam Style fad has almost faded and it's the Chinese New Year fad here where I live so my brother thought of mixing both together. He came up with the parody song for Gangnam Style called Oppa Cai Shen Dao. He did a game for it: /portal/view/609050

That was a while ago. Later I did this animated music video for that song. Thought it would be funny! :D
I know some of you don't like Gangnam Style, personally I don't like it either but neither do I hate it.
If you're not familiar with chinese tradition here are some term explaination:
sacapme - literally translates to 30th night. This is the usual way the chinese quote the night right before the first day of Chinese New Year
cai shen - Wealth God or God of Wealth. A God the Chinese believe administers wealth. Cai Shen to Chinese New Year is like Santa Clause to Christmas.
tua teng - literally translates to 'big meal'. The Chinese would refer to this as 'big dinner'or 'reunion dinner' because this meal is often eaten as the dinner on sacapme(refer above)

Hope you guys enjoy!

I'm sorry but I'm quite tired of the song and all the remixes of it. On the radio, on the clubbs.... Soo....
Kinda to late to make a parody of it. That train have left a long time ago.

But i liked the animation and the song was okay. So you'll get atleast 4/5 out of me.

Nice parody.

seeing this animated was oddly chilling. i mean, usually its live action parodies, but such attention to detail was put in this very simple parody that it was really surreal. it was really a fantastic flash to just look at. it had such a scope to everything and the visual pacing was just perfect. it wasn't jumping around or begging for attention, but it didn't need to. the attention it gets is through the title alone, and the rest was showing off your skills as an animator, which are mostly fbf object movement and voice sync skills.

but there is 1 downside, and its that this is and will always be just another gangnam style parody, causing the original to sit there on life support, and this one to be overlooked for its visual effort. i know you can use these skills to create a wonderful story, and i'd love to see that.

very nice parody. I like how you make the sounds of the chinese characters fit with the original rhythm and still actually have some meaning to the song. i suppose we could use some extra "red envelope." In terms of animation, it is a little on the simpler side, but it has a Chineseish feel to it (you will know what I mean if you ever had a Chinese school textbook). Good job!
