It's funny how memory works... I remember playing this game years ago when I was in high school, and I loved the concept and the atmosphere. I'd still think of it on rare occasions, sticking out in my mind out of the hundreds and thousands of flash games that filled my spare time back in those days.
Just yesterday I was watching someone play a game without music, so they brought up a playlist of royalty-free tracks as background ambiance. It was all fairly standard fare: a bunch of classical music, at one point the "Can-Can" song came on... but then I heard the sound of wood instruments and faint chimes and was instantly transported back to the experience of playing this game. Fortunately the streamer was kind enough to share the title of the track, so now I can listen to it whenever I please (it's called "Healing", by Kevin MacLeod).
Thanks to Scriptwelder for making this little slice of my childhood, and for selecting such a beautiful piece of music for 400 Years. I'm glad to see that it's still playable, for it to disappear would feel like a loss.
