You have fallen into a vast underground maze. Can you find your way out, or will you end up trapped in darkness forever?

We recommend playing in a dimly lit room with your speaker or headphone volume turned up. It's best to play I Can't Escape late at night, as it is an eerie exploration experience.

Troubleshooting: This game requires flash player 11+. If you don't have flash player 11, the game will tell you, and you should download it (for free) here: .

If you get the error "requires 3D hardware rendering," that means it's not running on your graphics card for some reason. Try right clicking the game, clicking settings, and make sure "enable hardware acceleration" is checked in the display tab, then refresh the page. If that doesn't work, try updating your graphics card driver or your flash player version.

If you're using windows 8, cheese123 mentioned to me that he couldn't get the game to run unless he ran chrome in windows 8 mode. If you're using windows 8 and having trouble, you can try that and see if it makes a difference. Thanks a lot to cheese123!

If you are still having trouble playing the game, feel free to send me a PM!

I can feel there's someone chasing me the ENTIRE game. It's absolutely fantastic! Great job!

Neat, spooky game. I found plenty of keys, but read a previous comment, that they were used for a door on the first floor? I just kept trying to go downwards. When I got stuck, it was "why not climb up? plenty of iron doors to brace on, and keys to use... And if one breaks, more exploration maybe?" XD
Maybe it's just me, I'd probably enjoy being stuck in one of those places. Also, I'd beat those eyes with the bones laying around. Prolly piss the ghosts off.

i clicked on this expecting a usual point and click escape game, and was pleasantly surprised to find a really neat horror game! when it went fullscreen, i knew i was in for a treat.

i thought i was doing pretty good, (mabye SPOILER) dodging the holes on the ground and finding hidden paths in the walls (end maybe SPOILER), but i died...

one thing that bothered me is that i collected about 3 keys and none of them worked on anything? or, mabye they did and i didnt realize it.

anyways, great game!!! 10/10, would reccomend. i died, but im gonna go play it again! :D

Great game, but you should remake this game and add monsters and like a weapon system where you start off with say like a knife or something and then you find chests with armor and potions and stronger weapons. It would be awesome!

Ah! I finally escaped! First played 2 nights ago and I think this was my fourth or fifth try so I'm pretty pleased with myself. Excellent game, especially if it was done in a month. I'd take some of the suggestions here and make it a full game. Only thing I'd improve is the walking/control and make it so enemies further down can actually end the game. Also, am I playing as a lion, or is that the environment? I noticed sometimes when backing up a growling noise would happen. Oh, and the music was sweet too. Only one I didn't like was the short, heavy synth waning one as that kinda killed my speakers. Way too much stereo being compressed into mono is what that sounds like. My Korg did the same thing if I wasn't setup the right way.

Also, to people having trouble. Just keep in mind there are a lot of walls that can be torn down and visually they're not too hard to miss. The keys don't really help much nor do most of the cage doors in general. Stick to trying to outsmart the setting rather than going for obvious stuff like locked doors, keys, etc.

davidmaletz responds:

The backing up growl was actually a bug! I found the bug after the game was released and the month was over (yes, I made this game in a single month) - when you back up, the sound it plays is incorrect (and most often the roar sound)! But, I decided this was kind of cool and fit the game, as you don't really know what's behind you, so I left it in there!
