You have fallen into a vast underground maze. Can you find your way out, or will you end up trapped in darkness forever?

We recommend playing in a dimly lit room with your speaker or headphone volume turned up. It's best to play I Can't Escape late at night, as it is an eerie exploration experience.

Troubleshooting: This game requires flash player 11+. If you don't have flash player 11, the game will tell you, and you should download it (for free) here: .

If you get the error "requires 3D hardware rendering," that means it's not running on your graphics card for some reason. Try right clicking the game, clicking settings, and make sure "enable hardware acceleration" is checked in the display tab, then refresh the page. If that doesn't work, try updating your graphics card driver or your flash player version.

If you're using windows 8, cheese123 mentioned to me that he couldn't get the game to run unless he ran chrome in windows 8 mode. If you're using windows 8 and having trouble, you can try that and see if it makes a difference. Thanks a lot to cheese123!

If you are still having trouble playing the game, feel free to send me a PM!

Why do I have to play it on fullscreen? Is the an option to play it like every other game?

The sound/music were very good but the playability needs work. No minimap?!? Also, the controls were rigid but maybe I'm just spoiled with all the freedom I get in other games I play.

You have the most important aspect - the atmosphere. You can't really learn that but you can learn the other stuff (ie the control stuff). Good luck with your next game!

davidmaletz responds:

In this game, you're supposed to get lost (that's part of it's atmosphere), so maps and navigation controls would actually be counter-productive to the game.

It's odd, but the eyes on the wall at first were disturbing, but as I played they almost became a comfort, knowing I wasn't completely alone down there.

Assuming it was the goal, I fell as far as I could until I was trapped between 4 locked doors. I was almost glad to just lose and be done with it. Not "terrifying" but nothing I'd want to play for more than a short while without a break (though it clearly has addictive properties to it).

Reading some of the comments (plus the title) I assume the game is endless, or is at least it's one of those "Slender" type games that gives you an addictive puzzle to solve with little reward for solving it. This isn't a bad thing, just not something I enjoy at length.

Good Game though.
