Main goal of this game - to sell the How To Think Like Sherlock Holmes book.
Main game idea - to find 4 card with the same symbols. That's all. From level to level you will see more and more symbols on every card.
How To Think Like Sherlock Holmes - marketing tool for How To Think Like Sherlock Holmes book. And that's why this game good enought to play once or twice. You play game - got to http://www.canongate.tv/ - buy book - that's all. And from this point of view game is ok as for me.
Good attractive (for Sherlock lovers) design and music.
But sure gameplay is boring after 3-5 levels. No new mechanics, no bonuses, no achievements.
It can be really good game if letters and symbols were have some story or logic links behind them. If all game will have goals.
So I think we can ask for good sequel from author )
not so good. keep trying though.
Sherlock Holmes isn't just about noticing details, he also recognizes what those details mean. This game would be better if there was a mystery to match the cards, and locating the symbols helped us solve the mystery. Also, I was a little confused by your instructions. I thought I had to find one card from each column that matched, not just any 4. As others have already noted, the levels quickly became repetitive, there was nothing to hold my interest.
A bit repetative. The gameplay doesn't get me involved much in the game and the music outs me to sleep because there is nothign really exciting going on to match it.
It could be better with a story of some sort (a short mystery before each round and an answering section after or soemthing).
And honestly, aside from the silhouette on the back of the cards, I saw no way this was related to Sherlock Holmes or thinkinng like him at all. Holmes was about more than noticing details, it was also about objective approach, which this does not use at all. If anything, this is "Think Like Monk".
I left the time pass when I got 10320 because I got bored... It's entertaining at the beginning but then it became so... "and again and again and again".
