This game runs on HTML5, not Flash. If you cannot run or load the game at first, update your browser to the latest version.

a WHAT WOULD MOLYDEUX? GAME JAM game, "THESE ZOMBIES CAN SOCKET!", programming by RYAN KAHN (http://ryan-kahn.com/), graphics by CHESTER T KWAN, audio by MILES FLANAGAN, intro music by RICK CODY

Survive as long as you can as you search for power outlets to power up your turret in order to mow down the zombies chasing you! Created in 48 hours for the "What Would Molydeux?" game jam back in March 2012. Check out the other MolyJam games over at http://www.whatwouldmolyd eux.com/, and Newgrounds MolyJam collection!

Differences from the original release:
-Altered splash and instruction pages

-COMPATIBILITY NOTES for mobile users-
-Works only if you have a keyboard of some kind.

Works with: iPad2 or higher (performance issues, even with 4th gen), Microsoft Surface with Internet Explorer 10, Motorola Droid RAZR

Does NOT work with: Motorola Backflip

Gameplay notes:
-I know the game doesn't restart when you die, so just either collapse the game screen or refresh the page. Actually, take that as a game feature, ponder on how futile it is surviving the zombie invasion/apocalypse as the zombies gather (and maybe do the spinny dance) around the bloody pool of what use to be you.

Commentary (Chester T Kwan):
MolyJam is the first game jam that I've attended, and it left a very positive impression on me. I'm proud of my group and what we've put out. I've been attending other game jams whenever I get the chance to. The challenge of creating a game in that short of a time span is challenging and rewarding. It is also the first time I've ever done pixel art, so that was an interesting experience as well.

fix it

omegafinal responds:

Fix what? If the game doesn't run at all, then it's your browser's fault, so upgrade it to the latest version. If it's the fact you can't restart it in game, then sorry, we've moved onto other projects that interest us after the fact, so this is presented, for the most part, as is back during the jam.

Has potential but is really sad at this point. The controls are ok but not being able to restart is silly. The items are really poorly detailed. I didn't know what I was supposed to be looking for or what survival method to utilize. Seemed like as time went on the zombies just got to be too fast and too many and I had no turret. The turret is another thing. I can kite the zombies all day but if my turret won't shoot them what is the point? Iron out the details and this could be a good bit of fun.

omegafinal responds:

Turrets have a limited range, so you'll have to guide the zombies to its field of vision. As for the restart, we just didn't have the time, a good chunk of the 48 hours if I remember were spent on working on pathfinding and balancing the game. Yeah, we were playtesting each others' games.

The game refuses to load at all.

omegafinal responds:

Due to the fact the game runs on HTML5, your browser has to support it. Using the latest version of Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer, etc. is recommended. Other than that, I'm not sure why it wouldn't run.

It's not that bad a game, though you could expand on the idea and make something really awesome
