Most games of this genre aren't very good (God, Burrito Bison Sucks) But with this one you really stuck the landing, as it were. By the way, what was the main music for The Gentleman called?

15 Hours, 20 Minutes, and 47 Seconds. That's how long it took me to get 100% on this absolutely wonderful game.
I read an interesting article recently about Zynga's games and other FB games. A distinction was made between "money" games and "skill" games. Many of these FB games are predatory because they trick the user into thinking the game is skill-based when it's really about investment, either hours of their time, or a powerful upgrade for a buck or two. Often, money games start as skill games before making the predatory transition. But when you think about it, most RPG's and maybe even most games utilize the "money" concept. It's not about skill, but about stats or upgrades that simply involve a time-sink. Can't beat a boss? Level for six hours until your stats and loot are overwhelming.
Many games like Rogue Soul would be designed to be a "money" game. You'd use the money you collected on a run to buy up extra double-jumps or to slow the scroll-speed, or some other buff. Thank you, thank you, thank you, a thousand thank yous for not doing this. This is a true skill based game of the highest order, and somehow it's amazingly well-balanced. The learning curve of the different terrains that are randomly generated is just phenomenally well-done. In the beginning I was begging for a mechanic that would just grant me one extra continue. By the end, I was regularly hitting zone 6 or 7 without dying once.
I really am taken aback by how challenging all the mechanics are, and how well they work together once the player understands them. The scrolling, rushing forwards, walking backwards, the random level generation, the limited use of double-jump (how many platformers have we played that basically reward you for spamming double-jump), daggers, and parachutes. The interactions become complicated enough that I think it couldn't have been predicted as the game was being designed. Which means that this went through a lot of play-testing and level design to get everything right, and I really appreciate that. Of course all of the achievements were just on the right side of frustrating.
So again, a great 15 hours, interspersed over the last two weeks whenever I needed a good browser distraction from my work. Top notch.
