A girl goes through drastic measures to appease her hunger pangs.

This 'toon is for a competition called NMAE. The open round theme was "the hidden door". This is what I came up with in about 3 weeks.

I tried some new things with this one. Smears, different camera angles, perspective, stuff like that. So let me know what you think, what you liked, what you didn't like, I'm open to anything you have to say and I'll probs respond to every review.

I think the music might have been a bit too lively for what was going on, especially since not much action is going in the first few scenes, but it was cute and the animation was great and fluid. NICE SHTUFF

Brewster responds:

Haha I know what you mean. It's like, she's stealing a sandwich with this cutesy-ass music going on, kinda seems out of place. But whatever, I like the song regardless. Thanks a lot!

Absolutely fantstic!
As always, you made good choice of music for the animation. It flowed really well, from scene to scene, and the facial expressions were nice.
A mini-suggestion would be to include sound effects, like when she was hungry to have a stomach growling, or when the cashier put up the 4.95 to have a cash machine "ding" sound (i don't know if that made sense...)
But that's just a mini suggestion, and not relevant enough for me not to give this 5/5!

Brewster responds:

Thanks, yeah, I contemplated adding sound effects for those parts (and a couple other parts). Like a slam when she bolts out the door, or, like you said, a sort of "cha-ching" when re rings her up. But I decided against it because I didn't want them to subtract from the song. Thanks again!

hah! nice work.

I really like some of the pacing, but to me the ending was a bit of an anti climax. Not the fact that she found the room, that felt fine... just the fact that it ended there. It felt like there was no payoff.

Anyways, some nice animation! well done :)

Brewster responds:

Ahhh, yeah I know what you mean. It feels like there should be something after that, like it shows her eating all the sandwiches, or maybe she even gets caught and has to leave or something. If there was time, I definitely would've added something like that.

Decent. The animation was nice and fluent, and it kept me entertained. However, there's not much of a story, and the characters aren't developed much if at all. I understand you made this in three weeks, but I still would have liked to see a little more story.

Brewster responds:

Yeah, I mean, all that's really there is "she's hungry and she has no money". But that's really all the development that was needed within the context of the animtion. Or, you know, maybe I'm just not that great of a writer yet. Either way, thanks for the review!
