Rot Gut is an action packed platformer set in America's 1920's Prohibition era. You take control of an agent who, to uncover their mysteries, goes on a mission to fight the city's underground armed to the teeth organizations.

- Gameplay: Several levels with different gameplay themes.

- Art: Graphics are based on 1920's American gangster's era with Noir style mixed with retro aspects of pixel art.

- Music: Each level has it's own uniquely composed music that is an exciting mixture of chiptune and 1920's Jazz.

- Details: In order to make the game feel more fun, strong attention was paid to the details in the game; from the small sound of shotgun shells bouncing on the ground to that kick that firing a shotgun should have.

- Cutscenes: Game features 5 different cutscenes with full sound effects that played various parts during the game to tell the story and also prevent repetition.

- and MORE! ...:

About the name: "Rot Gut" basically means the stomach ache that was caused by drinking bad or home made alcoholic drinks that were popular in 1920's due to it's prohibition.

Too easy, but if I had to play through another fifty levels, I would have done so. Fun stuff here.
PS. If you lure a guy off of ledge, he will fall and get stuck.

Cool game... took me back to the old 8bit platformers that got me into gaming in the first place. It's obvious that you took the time to do this well, and I think you nailed it. Anyone who enjoys platform games will find this game immensely enjoyable. The fact that you took such a moody and cool setting to base the game in only enhances what would be a fine game in any thematic setting. You could've done something boring and gotten away with it, but you didn't, and that's excellent.

I honestly can't point out any room for great improvements, but I'm sure if you keep putting this kind of effort into all your creations, that they will only get better and better.

i understand that you tried your hardest but this looks like a 1920's clone of contra witha prohibition centered theme. i'm sorry, but i can't see the love behind it. no offense.

I really enjoyed it. You did a great job.

This was a fun interesting game! You brought back alot of nostalgia on what games were meant back then and what it feels and means to be a gamer. The setting was very original on playing a rough and tumble agent while foiling the schemes of illegal booze runners. Taking on enemies that are nostalgic and old school in their old environments. Now the game is near perfect in fun side-scrolling entertainment like that of the 8-bit era on say the NES but there are sadly some minor glitches that make the game a bit tricky in some parts. However there minor and don't disrupt the game play too much but just in occasion. The graphics were cute and nostalgic and the music for level to level makes you feel like your playing something from back in the late eighties or early nineties. You have three weapons to wield in order to bring the smack down on organized crime. Not only that but the game has two bosses to beat up on including the recurring "Muscle Door Man" of the cheesy, swanky fiends that are causing disruption and discord in your agent's fair city. The mini movies within the game was again a shout-out to eary games in the past. My favorite part that was both adorable and original was the agent's encountering of some deadly guard dogs (virtually almost like a nod to many other games like Pac-Man). Again I really enjoyed the game, I really did. It feels like an indie game from how it was made to a great extent and you took some special care and time in order to craft it. For brining me such old joy within my mind and heart I'm bestowing you a very great score. A 4 in a half out of 5. And a 5/5 in voting power. I hope you've enjoyed this review and the score given to you, Again you really deserved it for making such a fun, cute, great game. Have a splendid day to you. Good day!
