In Deponia, the world has degenerated into a vast garbage dump, in which the crotchety Rufus ekes out his sorry existence. He is part of the lowest social class, doomed to live his life in literal mountains of trash. He hopes for an opportunity to get into the world of the rich, who live in a floating city high above the clouds. Fate seems to smile on the snotty good-for-nothing when one day the attractive lady named Goal from the higher sector plummets into one of the trash heaps. Rufus decides to help the young woman out by taking her back to her husband. When he notices that Goal's husband is a dead ringer for himself, he hatches a diabolical scheme to gain access to the upper world. However, things don't work out quite as planned, since he has feelings for the beauty which limits his usual unscrupulousness.

Help Rufus, the poor boy from the junkyard, to win over the girl from heaven. Only with this rich girl from his dreams he might be able to escape Deponia and, unexpectedly, to save the planet.

game seems pretty fun, but I am having the same "disappearing item" problems as some other people... I need to light the fuse but the hand torch is nowhere to be seen. also, what was the point of having 3 socks? I put the green and white sock in the pot, then got a pair from it and put it in my suitcase. THEN i found the other green sock, and could only put it in the pot, but it didnt serve a purpose.

I'm a big fan of daedalic entertainment for many years now. I actually pre-ordered Deponia and played it through. It was awesome. Really awesome. Although I was kinda disappointed by the end. I'm used to those "Oh my god, I totally didn't expect this! I never even thought about it! What the hell! My brain is dead! Oh my GOD! Okay, I'm not gonna cry now! Shit."-endings. Especially The Whispered World impressed me veeery much. The (I don't know if that is a spoiler but I think I'll warn you) cliffhanger in Deponia was just...meh. It really didn't "get me" somehow.
I'm just looking forward to the second part now. It will be awesome. I know it.
Greetings from Germany, guys!
