Amazing, fantastic and touching. I really enjoyed watching this and even cried at the end T-T
Rather inconsistent in tone, and lacking of exposition in parts. Jack is living in a mundane world, but we never see his world as mundane, we usually only see the world as he interprets it.
The tone jumps from psychological horror to bouncy imagination without picking which one it would rather be. Seeing the subject matter, I myself would have stuck to a psychological horror. This is a very scary story we're telling here, it's the story of a man literally trying to escape reality and responsibility by hiding inside his head. The bouncy tone of most of the movie doesn't fit in with that theme. Especially since you could argue the film is about a boy learning he can't run from his own issues and has to face them- an allegory for growing up.
Have you ever seen the film adaptation of Pink Floyd's The Wall? I'd look there for more inspiration. It has similar themes and a somewhat related plot.
Overall, though, it was well put together. It just seemed like it wasn't sure what it wanted to be.
It really is something good to see something that gives a deep message (from what I gathered) in a site like these. Amazing work, really deep story, almost cried at the end. Love it, a total 5 star Movie.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE EXPERIENCE!
