This game is great but it can be even better.

This game is great I had a lot of fun and I'm glad there was a sequel to this for me I enjoyed it too much also the end was not a good or bad ending it's an ending and already an open ending maybe the survivors of the ship died all or only 1 or 2 survived but the people of your base are still alive so maybe they could return to attack the monsters that the ship contained and thus they could escape that is my opinion about the ending and by the way for the players who did not complete this game or have not seen the ending well there is a channel called 31SilentGaming he has completed the ending of wasted colony so if you like you can see it I would appreciate it if you gave him a like and subscribe to him

My 10 year old self will just crumble if he saw me not only find this game again after 6 years but finish this game. Right from the start, this game will punish you and punish you hard. Rarely I will find a game that will make me feel overpowered and underpowered at the same time in a game. Love this game to the very end.

Okay boys and girls, this is my first attempt at a strategy guide and i hope it helps you beat the game (that is, if you don't mind disappointing endings). This is the info that has helped me a lot fo far:
- if you're familiar with Sarah Northway's Rebuild series, this is NOT rebuild. it's similar, yet it's not. forget any strategies that you may apply on her game
- if you start anywhere but the left side of the map, reset the game
- pick the PRIEST, they have balanced stats but most importantly, they can HEAL, and since you don't get the first aid room till late game, you NEED the healing powers. As i observed, the priest heals people not on outside missions/guard duty
- even with the priest and/or first aid room, people WILL die and thus you WILL lose whatever equipment they carried. be prepared to handle the loss and make sure it's not devastating
- send more than 2-3 people to scavenge/recruit, else they'll bring nothing but bad news
- as someone else commented before me, don't bother responding to distress signals UNLESS, they're coming from a team you sent out OR it's part of a storymode mission (the gen guys)
- unarmed survivors dont fight, so assign them to tasks inside the base or give them a weapon. in my opinion, survivors with melee weapons are better suited for outside missions and those with ranged weapons are better suited for guard duty
- ALWAYS leave more people than needed in guard duty, you never know when the game will throw a curve ball with a distress signal you can't ignore.
- for the final mission (you'll know eventually), assign a full team with ranged weapons and nothing less
- both the game and past reviews warn you about the game becoming more dangerous with time and blocks scouted, so scavenge as much as you can before expanding.
- don't forget to expand your base! entertainment rooms are crucial in early game

not that hard as long as you minmax 10-15 people for missions and dump all the rest as guards or as workers. prioritize recruitment and suck every resource dry for every area by sending 5man teams per mission and don't scout too much because the enemies get stronger the more of the map you unlock.
