A Big Shout out to Vince at VincaniTV on youtube,
I watched his how to videos in order to do the dance sequence.
He's definitely the guy to go to if you want to your breakdance moves in order.

anyyways Im glad to get this finished, I wished I had more time to flesh out the animation in some parts, but it works.
I decided I didnt want to make a fully tweened animation, and that might hurt me in the end when it came to time.. .. So attacked the most important scenes first, which might have ended up with it being alittle inconsistent.. sorry about that..
I'll tell ya this, if I ever see another green lightning bolt in my lifetime, it'll be too soon.

Ok Mind Chamber, I just wanna start off by saying that I'm not basing my score off the song. Just purely off your animation and its correlation to the song.

But to give my opinion on the artist, as someone who is actually a fan of hip-hop/rap, I feel pretty indifferent about this guy. The lyrical content was just the usual run of the mill, "I'm gonna make it in/change the (rap) game" ,"Im the best rapper because ____", kind of subject matter.....*yawn*......nothing I haven't heard from millions of other emcees.

I know that artists feel like they need to do this in order to fit in and get sales, but PERSONALLY, of subject matter is tried and played out. And theres not enough emcess with range in terms of lyrical content. >__>

Besides lyrical content, his delivery of flow was decent enough, I guess, but he doesn't really have a distinguishable enough deliver style or voice to really make him stand out, IMO.

Im sure there are others who don't mind hearing this same brand of hip-hop/rap over and over again (and if he has a demo that likes it, then fine, props to him), but I personally need something more then just the usual okie doke. And I don't feel I got it here. = / yea....meh.

One thing that I felt was actually solid, was the production of the beat. Very attention grabbing and enjoyable to listen to. Sadly though, I don't feel the beat was really paired up with a high enough caliber of Emcee. -_- *puts on headphones to some Lupe Fiasco and Macklemore*

Ok, to the review of the animation itself:

+ Really like the character models and overall art style. Very pleasing to the eye and interesting to watch. Also, the rapper's monster/robot form was very cool.

+ Liked the "Lyrics come to life" concept of the flash. Very interesting to watch and made the song a bit more interesting.

- Many have said this already, but anyways, I feel the movements and gentures of the characters were a bit off beat to the song. I know it must a bitch-in-a-half to make animation that has to follow a rhythm, but with a very rhythm orientated genre like Hip-hop/rap, you just HAVE to get that aspect right. Or else, it will look off putting the the viewer (especially other Hip-hop/rap heads)

- Though I did comprehend the whole "lyrics coming to life" concept of the story in the first watch through, I do however feel that the story about the aliens could have been fleshed out a bit more.

(Like for instants, at the beginning where the guy was surfing channels, you could have had the news station give a report about a UFO sighting. Missed opportunity I feel. = /

I also think it would have been cool if you had actually shown the UFO in the process of crashing, somewhere at the beginning, to liven up the first half of the flash a bit, so it wouldn't feel too slow. = /

And lastly, It would have been nice to know if the aliens in the ship were actually dead or not. )

+/- The breakdancing scene and the part with god being astro projected (with a halo on the rapper) was very dope xD. The backdancing scene can be very good demo reel footage. xD

In closing, this WASN'T a bad effort at all on your part mindchamber, just a few important fine-toning aspects that hold this back from greatness. I'm sure you'll learn from this flash (and from its comment section) and improve for you next project.

Can't wait to see more,

MindChamber responds:

Great review and really thorough. I definitely agree with your points and I definitely couldve fleshed out the alien bits more. It was more of a plot device and a reason why things were happening, but it couldve added alot more to the vid.. and the syncing to the beat definitely was giving me some trouble, mostly because the flash played slower as a swf file, which threw me off in a few places, but I already have plans to fix that for the next one.

thanks again.

Cool look when transforms in to the killer

To be honest, I'm not the biggest fan of rap.
But I did enjoy the animation.
The beginning seemed a bit boring and slow, but I did enjoy the rest.
I really liked it when the rapper's words came to life and when he transformed to the metal monster.
I feel like the breakdancing scene was one of the best part of the video.
It...kicked this video up a notch.

Why couldn't you have them nod their heads in time with the beat , only let down really it just looks so bad i think

MindChamber responds:
