Note: To move diagonally use either Numpad 7912 or the keys 79jl. You can also redefine the keys in-game.

Update 16-07-2012, v. 1.1.8: Now, the first time you visit the title screen all of your medals should be reuploaded. By "the first time you visit" I mean first visit on each page refresh.

Beethro Budkin, fifth-generation professional dungeon exterminator, was hired by King Dugan to clear the king's multi-level dungeon of a large monster infestation. Beethro charges by the room, and as a professional, he is contract-bound to clear all the monsters from each and every room in the dungeon to get paid. The only weapon Beethro needs to do his job is a Really Big Sword(tm), which will defeat almost any monster in a single hit.

Your objective is to clear each level of King Dugan's Dungeon of monsters. This feat can be accomplished using only your Really Big Sword(tm) and your wits. Each room is a separate area that has to be cleared in a single session. Should you leave a room without completely clearing it, it will be restored to its initial state when you return.

Compete against players from all over the world, going for best score in each room by completing it in the fewest number of moves. To have your scores submitted to the leaderboards, register a user account on the Caravel Forum and provide your username in the Options menu. By default, free account score submissions will remain for two weeks. Purchasing a CaravelNet membership will make them permanent. With a CaravelNet membership, retrieve a CaravelNet Key from your forum user profile, and enter it in alongside your username on the Options menu. If you do not type in the details, you will be only notified what place your score would've attained (so-called anonymous scores).

This looks fun too bad I cannot walk properly. I tried to walk and the 8 directional system does not work correctly. The arrow keys work fine but I cannot walk diagonally through the rocks blocking the first path, thus depriving me of getting to actually play the game.

Skellus responds:

Did you read what the instructional character says right at the beginning? You can move using Numpad and an alternate, notebook numpad (789uijkl)

If you loved stand-alone DROD you'll love this.
If you've never played DROD - it's a Puzzle / Strategy mix - lots of fun.

Being an avid player of DROD for years, I am thrilled to see the series in the flash format! Not only does it revisit some classic levelsets, it also enhances them to be more suitable for beginners, while still challenging players.

There's something for everyone here, it's puzzles, action, thinking, devising strategies, and the good news is that you don't have to possess lighting-quick fingers to play this. The game takes as much time as you need, which means you can go grab a cup of coffee while it's running, and nothing will have changed, but you can also move through the rooms at high speed if you wish.

Another aspect I like about DROD is its predictability. All monster and element behavior is set in stone, and an exact sequence of moves will always lead to an exact same reaction from the game. There are no random elements involved at all, which means this is a game of pure skill. Over time you will learn to understand the more complex elements in the game, and you will just *know* what will happen when you make a certain move. This doesn't make anything trivial though, just more fun!

If you like this game, there are stand-alone releases of DROD that you can try, which feature a bigger room size, and a lot more elements. There's also a level editor, allowing players to make levelsets which live up to the quality of the official ones, or even surpass them. There's a very friendly and nice community too!
