Fruit Snake

Your favorite game Snake is here again! Well, its not the classic from 1978 that you used to play on your ABC 80 (ah, those where times, right?) but I can ensure you that its still the same good old play value as always. Just like similiar Snake games your mission in Fruit Snake is to eat as many apple as you can in a row (and some other stuff) and try to avoid smashing into the wall. There is always a built in high score leaderboard so you can compete with your friends. Enjoy!

Very addicting and fun. I loved the animation.

It's Snake, but with a pretty paint-job. I like Snake, and I like pretty things. Ergo, I like this! :D

As a veteran Snake player, I can say I enjoyed this. The music and graphics make for a fun, light-hearted atmosphere, and the target fruit/combo system is a really nice added touch. Plus, the controls are very tight, which is necessary for any good Snake game.

That said, some improvements could be made. I like the idea behind the "props," but most of the time they're not particularly helpful. The bonus points one doesn't really boost your score that much, and I actually tried to AVOID the one that slows you down. Which brings me to my next point: while it may just be because I've played too much Snake in my time, I felt the snake moved WAY too slow. Granted, people who haven't played before wouldn't do too well starting off with a snake moving at mach 5 speeds, but still; adding the option to choose your starting speed would have been GREATLY appreciated. :P

The tl;dr version:
Liked: Snake is always great, and the fun atmosphere and inclusion of a target fruit system help make it a little bit more interesting.
Liked less: There's no option to start at a faster speed, and the power-ups aren't particularly helpful.
All in all: It's a fun face-lift on a time-worn classic that's great for casual play, but a little too easy for anyone who's played before.
