Parallel Memories - Episode 1-1 "The Beginning"
Development duration: 1-2 years (1 1/2 years of slacking off)
Animation runtime: approx. 30 minutes
Source file: over 1 GB (Who cares? I do)
Amount of sprites/sound/music: Tilt
Number of crashes during production: 10^grapes

Short introduction summary:
A boy is captured by a group of scientists for their greatest experiment yet. A device to allow human beings the chance to experience something that many thought impossible which is the ability to jump into a video game or anime, to see and experience it all with their own two eyes.

Author's comment:
I finally managed to start my planned sprite series.
A lot of effort went into this one and a lot of stuff happened during development.
I'll keep it short, because you guys rarely read.
I started to plan the series right after "Sonic's World".
This flash corrupted so many times, that it made me nearly suicidal.
I had to come up with a storyline, that's interesting enough to get this going. But who cares about story in a freaking flash animation?

Final Words:
Even though I haven't been really active the past years, I still want to thank those people, who have supported me in any of my flashes. This is basically my thank you present.
...Getting this or anything to the frontpage is a pipe dream nevertheless.

Sorry for the wait, enjoy the show folks!
[Pkmn2]: Shut it! You wanna fight here too?! *twists arms*
[Both]: *Tackle each other and start fighting mindlessly*
[Pkmn2]: Enjoy the flick regardless insanity and sorry for keeping you guys waiting for an eternity~

You, fantastic sir, have pretty much made my dreams come true. Never in my life did I think I would ever see something like this, this epic piece of work, see the light of day(btw, not hinting at that "taking a year longer" thing, im just that happy about this). I am overjoyed that you made that happen.
This series is looking to be one epic series. Its looking to be better than about 50% of the anime that I watch or about 75% of any video game story line, and considering how much of an otaku/gamer I am, thats saying something.
I cant bear to give this any criticism other than one minuscule line I noticed, you had Rina-chan saying "anyhow" at one point and the subtitles say "anywho", but seriously, who cares about something like that? its not like its gonna affect how i feel about this awesome piece of work! Hell, you could make one million errors like that, and as long as everything else was as good as i just saw, i wouldnt complain one bit. Really the only bad thing i could say is that youve now set a standard for yourself, and if you dont keep living up to it, people are gonna get angry. But that shouldnt be a problem for a man such as yourself, right?
I really cant put into words how ecstatic I am about this and the series that youre making. I am looking forward to some EPIC episodes. Hell, i'll say it, im more excited about this than i ever was about SMBZ, and seeing as i pretty much wept when i heard that the series was canceled, im saying a lot.
You have a true fan in me! Kudos upon kudos upon kudos all around! I seriously cant wait to see future episodes! Just dont take 2 years to make the next one :P!

Pkmn2 responds:

Wow! First of all, thanks for taking your time in writing your opinion to this.
I'm actually very surprised that you enjoyed this SO much. You're making one animator very happy.

The only thing that I can say at this point is, thank you for watching and I hope you stay tuned for the conclusion of episode 1. No matter how long it will take. =P

Loading screen is awesome, feel like watching a real DVD.

Pkmn2 responds:

That's all you can say? XD
The preloader must have been the best thing you've ever seen then.

Thanks for the comment either way.

I thought everything was pretty good in this flash, the depth of story was alright as well as the action scenes and game references... but there is one little key point I'd like to hit on... the entire thing (at least to me) felt like it was just a self insert to please a alter-ego (that being Pkmn2's pikachu/mario hybrid thing). If you really wanted to pull this kind of a story off, you didn't have to do that and it certainly could have come across as more interesting if you had the person transported just like a actual human being (take from Star Ocean 2's book. The main hero is just a average joe who gets thrown into a world full of magic and monsters with no real guidance).

The loading screen is cool.Menu is awesome.the truck/desert intro made me a bit bored... Sprite´s are great quality. History is freakin´g engaging. Clouds looks less worked-on that the rest.
Talking quick, this deservers FRONTPAGE

Pkmn2 responds:

Thanks. I see you didn't like the beginning much, but enjoyed everything else.
This deserves frontpage?
I would flip if that happens.
