Daily 2nd place, frontpaged, so many kind reviews and such a nice rating! Well, thanks a lot guys, you're awesome! :D

EDIT: This game was inspired by 'Motherload'. It is about mining ores and selling them to buy upgrades and drill deeper. Utopian Mining is part of this mining genre, so the games share the same basic concept. However, I did my very best to make it different to other mining games, by adding a different atmosphere, a story, some quests, cartoony-8bit-graphics and another feeling to it (and some other small stuff, too).

I hope you enjoy playing it. :)

Welcome to Utopia!
A few days ago a storm destroyed nearly the whole town.
Help these people and find out more about the Core-Ore...
Mine around as a mining robot, earn money, buy better hardware and complete missions.

This game has a few missions, different upgrades for your robot like drills, chasis, cooling liquids and batteries, awesome music made by Kevin MacLeod, some selfmade 8bit sounds, and lots of coal, iron, gold, wolfram, smaragd, ruby and diamonds!

How to play:
'LEFT', 'UP', 'RIGHT', 'DOWN' - move around
'X' - interact with things
'C' - cancel or leave
'J' - jobs
'M' - map
'I' - inventory

A digging game at its finest... Well, almost. I really liked the feel of this game; it's pacing and music make it one of the more relaxing games to play, while there is still an instilled drive for upgrades. Some more diversity would have been nice to see, maybe in the form of usable items such as bombs or extra lighting for the tunnels. Different music the further you go down would have been nice too. I would have liked things a little more if my active quest ore was separated from my sell stash, I sold the quest ores a couple of times and irritatingly had to go mine them again. The only other suggestion I could offer is to perhaps consider another shop keeper that trades different upgrade items for ores + money to offer the player a second motive for collecting ore.

With 4.5 star rating, those are suggestions at best. Overall, I loved the game. Perhaps on the next installment though, since you've already implemented a save-game, make it longer.

The game is easy, fun, and time consuming. Perfect for loosing a couple of hours with nothing else to do. the graphics are very retro, which i think is cool. the quest system was quite well developed, but i think it could have been even better if you had added something like an adventure system to it. at the beginning of the game, it is moderately difficult to mine anything for a lengthy ammount of time, which I think is good. After getting smaragd though, i found the game to be too easy and therefore a bit boring. The only thing which i didnt particularily like in the game was the shop system, which i think could have been made a lot better with a bit more time put into it.
That being said, I really enjoyed the game.
