You would think fixed shooters would be done by now, with no room to improve. But then you play this game.

A lot of fixed shooters are designed to be time killers, to be bad guys to kill for coins to upgrade. But this game actually tries to be better than that and focuses on - get this - gameplay. The game starts off rather slow paced but compensates with a nice aiming system that has you actually trying to line up shots, which I never thought could be done in any fixed shooter. Once you get more weapons ammo quickly becomes a factor both in selecting your weapons forcing you to sometimes use lower tier firearms creating tense moments but also as you play and try to conserve ammo, forcing you to use the most appropriate gun and be accurate. Running out of ammo is always a concern and it balances quite well with the need to use ammo to kill bad guys, and while I might be giving a bit too much credit for this I love the way enemies approach you as I have a hard time not panicking as they get up close. Difficulty increases nicely with weak spots and different takedown methods for different enemies; I might need to use a burst to take down a guy with face armor for instance. There are also plenty of little things too that show that this was actually playtested.

The half star missing is mostly for the unsatisfactory ending, which I really wanted to be say a boss fight with a giant demon or something as well as some problems with having to go back a lot and fight less challenging and less fun bad guys, although this is somewhat mitigated by the increase in difficulty as you play a single area over and over. Really a hidden gem in flash games.

The game is really fun to play. I have run across a slight problem though. When I assign a survivor to help shoot, the game freezes. It won't let me pause and it doesn't send any zombies. Other than the slight problem, great game.
