Traitor puts you into the shoes of a soldier of the Augustan Hegemony, forced to rise up against your former masters after you're ordered to do something you simply cannot accept. Explore the Aventinus Complex, complete missions, upgrade your ship and gather allies until you can overthrow the tyrants who have brought such misery to the people.

[Note: If you're playing in Firefox and experience odd control problems, try switching to Chrome or Opera.]

[Current version: 1.7]

TIPS:
1. The game opens up after the 4th mission, when you reach the map.
2. Upgrades are available in shops on the map screen.
3. The menu allows you to see your stats, achievements and allies.
4. If a mission is too difficult, try playing a different one and upgrading your ship.
5. In some situations, survival is more important than destroying all enemy ships.

MEDALS:
If your medals aren't unlocking, this is probably because the NG server is having some hiccups. Try reloading the page and see if the preloader ad is being displayed. Then go to the in-game Achievements screen; the game will try to unlock any medals you should already have.

Reviews

So, this is a great game. The graphics were unique and added to the atmosphere of the game. The storyline was one of the better ones I've come across in my gaming experience: a very amazing clam for a flashgame. Good use of an old platform to make something new. The other comments about the game being to easy at the end I disagree with. in 2nd to last battle you had to pick which enemies to kill rather just just killing them all (those T shaped things that released 3 spheres from the bottom took a lot of hits so you couldn't get them all) thus i dont think the final upgrades are as OP as they seem to make it. So, yeah, 5 stars! lol doesnt mean anything couldn't be better of course (such as the last boss battle, the clone of yourself doesnt go on the very edge of the screen making him easy to defeat- just go to the edge and regen HP if you run low then go back to fighting). All in all though, a very good game.

great graphics

this is very boreing to me.

too slow...
it get boring fast

The storyline and the graphics were the main strengths and it was that which made me play it to the end. I loved how it had a the reputation and a sense of story progress. And I always enjoy non-linear games with lots of extra places and upgrades however it did get a little bit repetitive near the end with all of the final missions. I did find that the upgrading was a little bit sudden. It was simply evasion and shooting the weaker opponents to suddenly being able to destroy everything. What would also do nicely in a sequel would be some more varying gameplay as it was the simplicity of the game that made the final missions lag a bit.
Basically, in a sequel, it would be perfect with more gameplay features (different guns and gun upgrades) as well as more difficult opponents (with AI).
