After a long day of shooting flash ideas back and forth this is what came out of it. We weren't thinking of Monsters Inc. by the way.

Idea inspired by ZJ. We were going for a role reversal sort of thing.

Edit: woah front page. Thanks a lot!!!!!!

It is hillarious, and also at the time, trippy and wierd.
Makes me feel how the creepy neigh- I mean monsters in my closet felt when I was a boy in my room.
I like it!
4.50/5 since apparently to me, the star rating does not work in my Review tab.

I like the way the monster child and father were drawn.
Cute, adorable, and unique.
Although the end with "I'm real" doesn't really fit, it makes it creepy.

I mostly like the twist.
good job!

Not bad in fact I like.

Wow that whole Monsters under the bed almost made me forget of those little things hahahah. I gotta say ZJ you and the gang did good with this one1

Very good! The music and the voice-over's did not clash as they usually do in amatuer animations. And I was genuinely frightened! 5 stars!

Improve animation quality, you are better than some, but many are ahead. Good Idea though.

I really liked the concept, and I thought it was well-executed. The sfx really helped create the appropriate atmosphere (suspense). I thought the voice actors were a good fit for the characters they played, and I was really startled by the roar at the end!! I liked the simple graphics for the most part as well, matched the absurdity of the situation.

The biggest shortcoming for me was the lack of detail. The beginning of the flash was well-framed; i.e. the li'l monster appears to be in a closet. But the background of the frames with papa monster weren't detailed or clear enough to show how he was lying, where he was, et cetera. I would probably recommend embellishing the characters movements a bit. A couple of examples of this would be:
1. When li'l monster's eyes fly open, make them quiver, dilate the pupils, something like that. And make the second time it happens it should be more exaggerated.
2. When the 'kid' shows up at the end and roars, make the face move as well as the psychodelic effect (with the red). Perhaps change the facial expression in the very last frames.

I thought this was overall well-made, while it was simple it certainly wasn't crudely drawn or poorly planned. You guys have a good sense of storytelling and the script was well-paced and captivating. I look forward to seeing/reviewing more of your submissions.

This seemed to be well done with the animation. Story went quite well too. Nice to see a little reversal too since I imagine maybe some monsters would be scared of humans rather than the other way around. The door opening sound gave a little bit of suspense to the story since it never knew when the human would come after it and scare them.

Animation here was nice and simple shading is seen showing there is a little bit of light in the closet it seems or at least it looks that way. The girl looking anime image during the end screen was rather unexpected and I guess it kind of lifts the spirits if the animation even scared the viewer at all.

The music was nice but I think it could have been lowered a bit so that the voice actors sound a little louder. The voice acting was also nice although for the first line spoken it sounded a little lower in volume than it should have been and then for the rest it sounded just fine, the gruff voice of the adult monster worked well and the little one sounding scared was also good.

Overall, I would lower the volume just a little bit. The image at the end screen was funny though since it feels rather out of place to me.

Why is it the onlyt thing I'm wondering is what's up with the cat girls and their panties at the end? XD

Rated 3.5 / 5 stars

Uhhhhhh. ..... whats the song at the end??

Rated 4 / 5 stars

Wow, Now if all children looked like that I would be scared of them. I'm guessing the picture at the end is an inside joke. But other then that I really liked the frame by frame style to it, I don't know why you put the tween of the squiggly line mouth in there it would have looked better just drawn fram by frame and to me it stood out. All that said it was a good animation

nice idea, a normally scary monster is afraid of a kid.

Rated 5 / 5 stars

Don't know why, but I almost shit my pants when the kid made that face.

Well... It was on its way. It's a neat thought, creative enough, but the audio was really bad and that ruined it for me.

Rated 3.5 / 5 stars

Well, it has some obvious "Monsters Inc" elements to it, with the bluish, horned image of the monster and the whole concept that monsters are afraid of children, but it's not an overdone idea.

The audio cracks a bit, and the scenes felt a bit repetitive. If there was more variety and detail it would definitely improve the viewing experience.

I don't care what these people say. This is not original. This was an idea put forth in "Monsters Inc." Please also note that the characters look like Sully, the main character of "Monsters Inc." Furthermore, this shows no skill nor talent. The animation is crude and the entire flash shows nothing but 14 year old stupidity as far as I can see. We don't need this trash.

Rated 3 / 5 stars

That was quite the shocker.

This was somewhat interesting to watch, but needs much improvement.

The characters and the backgrounds were well drawn and shaded. The facial expressions and lip syncing also worked well. The animation was usually pretty smooth, but not so much with the first close up of the monster's eye, which felt a bit choppy.

The background music was fitting, but the rest needs work. The voices and sound effects didn't work very well at all, even if they weren't of such low quality. The "I'm real" spam at the end was especially bad; it seemed to serve no purpose but annoyance.

This movie is unoriginal and doesn't even attempt to hide it. The character design and concept are obviously inspired by Monsters Inc. Even so, this was somewhat interesting to watch. I have to admit that I wasn't expecting the kid to scream, but it was still no where near scaring me.

It's mildly entertaining, but the audio is terrible and the concept isn't even close to being original.

Maybe not the most original idea on the planet (no, I was not thinking of "Monsters Inc" I am too old for that ;) ), but the little monster looked sweet anyway.

The thing that bothers me the most with this flash is the low audio quality. When the big monster is speaking, there are static noises all over the place. So either the microphone used was of rather poor quality or the recording level was too high. Also, when the kid screamed there where static noises as well.

HOLY HALO REACH! Somewhat creepy when the kid made that laugh!

Rated 4 / 5 stars

Nicely done.

A rough parody of Monsters Inc, but still enjoyable. The setup and build up is nicely paced, with the kid trying to rouse the parent a few times, before looking through the door and the scream hitting us. I liked it and was not surprised by it, except perhaps your drawing style.

That nose on the child was freaky, but then again, that was the sort of thing you were aiming for, perhaps the only other thing you could do would be to make the child overly cute, so that the monster would be scared of things like hugs.

With the way that you delivered it, I'm very impressed and I want to see you make more. Chop chop!
