Everything is against you as you fight to survive by fending off bats and dragons and at all costs: avoid the lava below!

Winner of Kongregate's Games in Ten Days contest #24. Theme: Only One Level.

This game was inspired by two of my favorite games as a child: The Floor is Lava and Megaman 2 (specifically Heatman's stage).

It was a fun, interesting game. The creativity of children (clearly a point in the game, considering the title and the water gun) is so much more enjoyable to me than anything else. The simplicity, and yet the moderate difficulty all reminded me of the games I played as a child. I played such games as a child, and always got annoyed when the closest thing to jump to was like, four feet away. Just as I can get annoyed when I have to jump to a block at the top, when I'm all the way at the bottom. The irritation, in itself, actually makes me enjoy the game more.
Regardless, though, the irritation and simplicity that I love about the game are also it's weak points. It's more of an aggravating time waster, then an actually game, even a flash game. Yes, it's amazing, and I love it. But you could argue against that point, which is the only (only only ONLY) reason that I took half a point off.

I really do love this game, though.

Thank you so much for your insightful feedback!

wish there was more to it

Orandze responds:

Thanks! Stay tuned for the greatly improved sequel :D

Meh. The presentation was much better than the game. The retro load screen, the custom retro sprites, the pause menu, even the music all fit really well. But the game wasn't any good. There wasn't any clear objective, besides not falling down. There was no real skill involved, and no progression, just loops.

Orandze responds:

I'm sorry you felt that way. It was inspired by the popular childhood game of the same name. Due to children's imaginations, the scenario they picture while playing games is often a bit aggrandized. This game is intended to be my interpretation of what a child might imagine while hopping along furniture trying not to touch the floor :)

You know, it's a good game but really there is no purpose for the water cannon or really any enemies

Orandze responds:

Well, the purpose of the enemies is to get in your way and give a bit of a challenge, especially later in the game when it gets much harder to reach certain platforms. The water cannon is there to give a chance to fight back and get them out of your way.

Get rid of the countdown before retrying

Orandze responds:

Good suggestion.
