This is a simple political satire. We produced this one in about two and a half weeks. English subs are embedded, hit the "CC" button.

Tech notes:
Quality this good cannot be had by embedding video in a Flash SWF. We've tried many times. Adobe Flash CS 5.5 using AS 3.0 allows for better quality SWFs and faster loading on Newgrounds. We are living in a modern age where HD Youtube videos can be seen on Newgrounds, ain't we got fun!

I remember when Youtube started and did not originally use a flash player on their site, however Newgrounds did. Youtube was the LOW QUALITY VIDEO site, and NEWGROUNDS was the HIGH QUALITY ART site. Newgrounds wasn't about FLASH, it was about ART.

Then when Youtube started using the flash player, I thought, "How closed-minded, youtube doesn't accept SWF files!" I always thought Youtube made a big mistake limiting themselves like that. They Missed out on attracting a lot of talented artists that were already on NEWGROUNDS.

A few things have changed over the years, YOUTUBE is now a site of HIGH QUALITY VIDEO and ART. Newgrounds, for a while now, has fallen behind on the ART side of things. I blame it on the technowlegy. Flash SWF doesn't handle VIDEO very well, unless you buy Autodesk Scaleform (That is used for Batman Arkham City, Dead Space, Just Dance, etc) which costs 10,000 dollars.

However, because of Flash Action Script 3.0 as of CS 5, YOUTUBE VIDEOS can be streamed right into the Flash SWF.

This means our art shall never be limited again. For the passionate animator/artist, this is a dream.

Newgrounds was never about Flash, it is about Art (Animation, Programming, Music, Illustration), and flash SWFs are merely the conduit in which artists present their creations unto YOU.

The fact that I know the song and dance of the Muppets makes this that much more enjoyable to me there might be a little bit of copy right issue with you using Statler and Waldorf, but it is also possible that the public now owns them *its been a while since I have looked up legal technicalities* other wise this makes my soul very very happy. I think my only disappointment is the fact that there isn't more of this. But never make this into a job I ask for more but on your own time, please make the next greatest happiness to my soul when you see fit to do so.

StringAnime responds:

The rules state that you cannot auto redirect, which would cause a crazy continuous loop sending my view count to ridiculous amounts. I am NOT auto-redirecting, I am linking, which is completely different. There is no malicious intent with my links to youtube. If there were, Newgrounds would know very quickly and trash can my account and notify Youtube and they would destroy my account there too. No one likes a cheat, and I know that the people trying to blam me are zealous of the law but don't understand it.

Once again, as a collaborator on this project I would like to leave a few remarks for posterity. I don't personally get the aversion of some to embedding our youtube video in a flash, it seems almost purely to be a knee-jerk reaction based on personal feelings and prejudiced impulses. Some people have a very narrow understanding of how media is created and how it may be effectively shared. This knee-jerk fear of embedding has never been satisfactorily explained to me. A few ignorant persons have suggested that this sort of submission violates terms. But I have read the terms of service several times and this kind of embedding does not violate terms in any way shape or form. Those of you who think it does, need to read those terms again, and this time turn your brain on.

I think this is the clause they misread:

"Your submission must not auto-redirect to a new site or open pop-ups. If your submission auto-spawns something to boost stats on another site, your account will be deleted and admins for the target site will be notified."

There is no auto-spawning in this submission, there is nothing sinister or devious about it. We submit our movies in the spirit of purest innocence. We did not want to compress the hell out of our pretty little movie. That is all, anyone with half a brain can decompile this swf and see. We did not submit "a youtube video" we submitted our own original content, the HD video of which happens to be stored on youtube's servers.

When we initially conceived "the Stringini Bros" we imagined doing a flash version for NGs and a full production version for youtube, but as we progressed it became obvious that the original idea would not stand up to reality, the difference between our flash animation and the finished movie was too great to just go back and output a swf.

I wanted to just forget about Newgrounds, I'm not a fan. But my brother thought we could do something to compress our videos. We ended up chopping our big submission into pieces and demolishing the quality. But people were telling us "Your Dora video is getting bad marks because of the video compression, you need to embed your HD youtube video." The whole notion of embedding was not our idea, as others, we IGNORANTLY thought it was against the rules.

So after some checking we did what people suggested. And now our videos suffer artificially in the rankings because of knee-jerk reactions, ignorance of terms, and prejudice against embedding by "NGNazis." I'm not talking about the 2 or three star ratings from people who dislike the video based on personal taste, that is expected. I'm talking about all the 0's people are giving it for no other reason than their own prejudice and ignorance.

We intend to continue embedding our HD videos. Visually, it is the best option for us. Flahs can't handle our content natively, and we are not going to dumb it down for poor little flash.

It has become a bit of a perverse pleasure to watch our videos get shot down. It feeds into all the negative impressions I have about Newgrounds being a place infested with too many narrow-minded people with their heads in the sand. And now it has become a matter of principle. We are going to continue to submit high-quality animations using embedded videos and we are going to continue to get ridiculously low ratings. This will be a testimony against Newgrounds, when your system ranks high quality projects like ours ridiculously lower than some of the absolute trash that makes its way on to this site, it becomes obvious that something is amiss.

So until next time, when we bring you another technically stunning production which will be crapped on by a few zealots for whom this is more religion than entertainment.

Hard at work,
The Other Stringini Bro

Looks like a good amount of time was put into making this. I'm just not personally a huge fan of this work in particular; I didn't find it that entertaining. I can however appreciate the thought and animation that went into making it. I do agree with the others users though that the youtube formatting was slightly offsetting, but it's not that big of a deal.

StringAnime responds:

I don't see a big deal either. I am not gonna complain when others don't bother to render their animations. It is my choice to go all the way. I wish I didn't have to use extensive aspects of Adobe software to get results that please me.

it was greatly animated, but dry and political. i would give it a higher review if you hadn't embedded a YouTube link into the flash, it feels wrong it really does. i also went ahead and read the other reviews and your responses. you should be aware that posting content that links to sites to garner traffic is against the rules as well as shown in red text just below this box, i think embedding to YouTube to drive up your views for the adsense traffic would count as that. this space is to not only stroke your ego when its good, but to give constructive criticism when it isn't and your clearly not taking it well. remember that you are your videos and when you call other users "Nazis" that's going to deter them from from looking at your next flash or subscribing on YouTube, that doesn't go for just the internet but anything. sorry

StringAnime responds:

You make little sense. There is nothing wrong with this Entry. Anyone can see the Art is good and the Load time is fast. If you want HD quality, it's right there. You make no sense.

First of all, WTF is up with the Youtube link? This is fucking NEWGROUNDS. Next, it sounds horrible. Third, what the hell is up with the animation? A bunch of puppets floating around, singing some horribly fucked up song, that doesn't make any sense?

Sorry. I'm just not a fan at all.

StringAnime responds:

The Youtube link is one way to show off your work in two locations on the web at the same time. Second, I know it is Newgrounds, I've been animating before Newgrounds was a thought. Next, there isn't anything wrong with the song, it's a parody of the season 5 Muppet Show Theme. Sense? I don't believe anyone on newgrounds expects everything to make sense here, LOL! Makes sense to me!
