UPDATE: Uuuuh, front page?? Thanks a ton. :] And thanks for all the votes and reviews and advice. I've updated the movie with subtitles to make up for over processed audio garble.

My first newgrounds entry ever, as well as my first animation in years. It was made in part to get myself playing around with Flash again. It was also so I could get some sort of little intro for this story I've been working on, but have no intentions of animating(if it were, the style would be way different. Frame by frame awesomness that I'm not capable of now). Therefore this animations raises faaaar more questions than it answers. I worry that it won't stand too well on it's own because of that, but hey, twas a good exercise and stuff.

My apologies for the Frankenstein-esque mess that is the narration. I compiled all the clips in the most unorganized way ever, so in the end it turned into a hodgepodge of different volumes, voices, effects, and noise that was hard to fix after the fact. Blargle. Welp, lesson learned for next time.

So yep, I'm no animator(nor a voice actor, apparently), but it was fun to do. So will probably try some more stuff in the future...with less vibration inducing textures...and better audio.

very nice

the story was great the sound and narration could use a little work but the animation was solid i hope to see more of your work in the future

Nicely done

For someone who doesn't consider themselves an animator or a voice actor this was very well done. It felt a lot like a prequel to a longer story, so I'm hoping there's more later on. Keep up the good work!

you got me super interested!

this is the great start/pitch/trailer. I really like the setup. the narrator (though had bad audio quality) didn't over or under do the delivery. It was paced well and fed the information very well. It didn't hang on any beat too long. And with everything this covered, how much you explained and how much you left a mystery really got my brain cogs turning and wondering where it could go, or what came of all this. Very good job!

From a visual standpoint it was a very unique style. reminds me a bit of edward gory and A series of unfortunate events a bit (that's a good thing). But the paper cutout look, while it seems like it might be too distracting or glaring of a style statement... it didn't. It wasn't distracting and over all gave a nice tone to the movie. You handeled all these things brilliantly. Congrats!

Now that was quite the dark story.
The only downside is that the truth was never revealed in the end.

love it.

it's a great plot, especially with the rumors and stuff. it makes you wonder. and i love your style of art and the animation was smooth. you were talking about how awful the sound was, but i think that it's fitting. it really nails that creepy feeling. 10/10, 5/5.
