This game is great. The wide variety of game styles and characters is impressive, and I love some of the funny little touches like the shape of the Legend of Zelda dungeon and the names of some of the medals. I only wish it wasn't so flippin' difficult. The time commitment is in the hours here. Having the action controls on the right would have been nice, too.
I GIVE IT A 10
Don't look at my comment it's valuble time you could be playing the best flash game ever!
This post is shot straight at Goombill. Bro, you need to relax. The game is MEANT TO BE FUNNY WHILE REMAINING FUN. Did it ever occur to you that maybe the programmers CHANGED the names of enemies as goofs? As for not playing it to beat it, people play games TO beat them, and telling people it's a waste of time just because you couldn't do it isn't helpful at all. If you didn't like the game, you should have just left the page. Kids these days don't understand what proper manners are. These guys worked their asses off to make a kick ass game, FOR FREE, that all could enjoy, and people like you have to have their 2 cents in the matter. If you have criticism on your next review for an entry, i would suggest a more adult approach and stop the childish shit. On a side note, GREAT game. It paid plenty of homage to alot of childhood favorites, and I would love to see more. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS GAME. Peace NG users. (Also check out my audio channel! More coming soon!)
I LOVE THIS GAME!
It's Nintendo Awesome
Note: A more specific rating would be 9.6/10 as far as my opinion goes.
Absolutely loved this game for the following reasons:
1. So much fan service for people from my generation and newer whom have enjoyed the classics games from the 8-bit era specifically Nintendo. Part of the fun is trying to find all the little references while playing.
2. Balanced and appropriate difficulty---Especially in the Megaman/Contra sections I felt like I was playing the original game they were based on and when levels to games were more loosely inspired (such as the LoZ Dungeon 1 map) they still felt genuine.
3. Great secrets---Haven't found them all yet but the ones I did were nice as they rewarded me for remembering the secrets they were based on from back in the day.
So in all it was everything that I could want in a retro honoring game and I'm looking forward to playing the Aboboy game after making a donation.
So why the .4 off of perfection? I personally would have loved to play a level based on some of the light gun games from that era (I do love the Duck Hunt secret though) so that's why I took off. Just personal preference (Hogan's Alley level maybe?). Anyways it would be cool if you guys made a 16-bit game for Abobo (maybe him and Aboboy teaming up) as a sequel? It it were like the Aboboy game where you ask for a donation to get it I would definitely buy it. Just a thought.
