Abobo's big adventure is really what any flash game should be. It's fun and not too complicated and challenging but in the sense that the mistakes you made were probably yours. Even when the difficulty really ramps up (megabobo!!) it's still fun enough to keep playing.
Let me make one thing clear though. I've never played the NES as a kid. I've never even looked at one in fact, so no feelings of nostalgia were invoked. But the game man! It's so good! Even if you failed to entrap me on the nostalgic stand point, THE GAME ITSELF WAS SO GOOD IT DIDN'T EVEN MATTER.
Playing a flash game shouldn't feel like a chore, and almost every flash game somehow does. This manages to usually avoid feeling like a chore. Occasionally I ran into a spot where it seemed unfair (MECHABOBO RAARGH AKSFJSFSLFHJEFL) and it did seem like a chore, but for the most part very well done. You said you spent a lot of time on this game and it shows.
I loved this and I loved domo-kun's angry smash fest, and the interwebs need more games like those. CAPITAL WORK SIR KEEP IT UP BROSKITATOCHIP
this by far...
IS THE BEST GAME EVER! GREAT LEVELS, GREAT BOSSES, GREAT MEADLES AND FREAT EVERYTHING THAT I HAVNT MENTIONED! although... the first boss doesnt let you get up which can be annoying.
WOOOT BEATEN THE GAME (LAST BOSS=LIL MAC D:!)
btw at ending lil abbobo and abbobo beaten the shit out of the audience :D
Unbobolieveable is an AWESOME word so I stole it
This is just all kinds of epic. It's possibly the single best NES tribute ever made, as well as the best flash game ever made. I've played most of those NES games before, and I only didn't recognize a few sprites. LOVE the game, it's worth every second. It's pretty difficult in spots, but I love it just the way it is. Thanks for not doing a Ninja Gaiden or Battletoads level... XP
I only have one complaint. It's got too much gore for a T-rated game. Decapitations, cannibalism, blood everywhere, strangling people with their own entrails... if you could, it'd be much more suitable as an M-rated title. Or could you at least put a content warning in the author comments or something?
Best NES tribute I have ever played in my entire life.
