I loved the concept of this game. The death realm and the water flipping were fantastic ideas and I thought they were executed well. I gave it a nine because it took me forever to figure out what I had to do at times because of the lack of explanation at the start. Very well done!

Not hard, but a bit frustrating at times.

To start off with, this game was one of the best i've played in a while. It had a nice atmospheric vibe to it, and the "dead" zone was perfect. Lonely and unsettling, and the dead zone on the second to last one actually started to scare me just a bit when the peaceful music was taken away (good pacing!).
However, that one level where you jump higher and higher between the worlds was really a bit overly-frustrating. You can do it in one shot, but you have to practically replay the entire level if you mess up. I suppose playing through the whole game again to get the fairies is fine, since you probably need the practice for the "Perpetiel" medal.
...On a side note, you might want to reconsider the whole premise of "killing the black person over and over to advance the game." Just sayin :P

kurismakku responds:

I will check later why it's right now impossible to get good ending for second time... Expect the update in few days since it's Christmas and everything is crazy !
As for that medal, you need to beat the game under 6 mins ! Merry Xmas ! :)

Top notch flash game as always. But there were a few parts that I didn't particularly think was good design.

The initial stages really make it difficult to grasp what the mechanics of the game are. I didn't actually quite understand what the teleporting or dying was until the first water flipping.

Unfortunately, as mysterious as something like that is, it wasn't very satisfying nor did it give a gratifying feel of accomplishment when randomly following a mechanic I couldn't make sense of. So a more straight forward introduction would be helpful, I think.

Good premise, but too short and easy

While some aspects of this game aren't exactly original (the visuals borrow heavily from Cave Story as someone mentioned, and the "flipping" mechanic is similar to that of Babies Dream), it certainly plays well, even if the slippery controls take a bit to get used to, and the new concepts it introduces are creative and fun. The levels are well-designed, and they teach you the game mechanics nicely, but there could have been so much more done with this. I acknowledge that this is just a port of a game you already made, but that's even better opportunity to add more to it. I just hate seeing puzzle games and platformers that limit themselves; this game could have offered some wicked challenges, but it never really got any harder as it went along, just more complex.

In regards to the story and atmosphere, I never care too much for the cliched "pixellated art game" so prevalent on NG for the past few years unless they're done really well, and it's really getting old. Thankfully this one wasn't nearly as pretentious as some other games on here (like the aforementioned Babies Dream) and got it's point across without banging me on the head with story elements. On the other hand, putting poetry in the medals is trying a bit too hard, IMO.

The visuals and effects (particularly the "ground") are fantastic, the music fit the mood perfectly, and the game as a whole is attractive and fun. I don't have much against this game except for the difficulty and length; it could have been a lot more than it is. Still, great job! I had fun with this one.
