At first I thought this game was the leopard's knickerbockers. The idea is good, and the mechanics well done. Some of it was a little frustrating, but any good puzzle physics game will be frustrating at points, so that's not too bad.
Then I got to level 30. Are you kidding me? There was nothing the least bit interesting in it, and worse, the third trapdoor is stupid difficult in part because *every time you want to try, you have to pass the previous two*. Once you've memorized the patterns, that's no challenge... (#1: line up against the wall, go at max speed when the water turns solid, hit space the moment you're safe; #2: line up against the wall, go at max speed halfway through solid, the opposite wall will stop you) but it still takes up 4/5s of the time for each attempt.
By dint of great patience, I managed to pass trapdoor #3 (line up halfway in the little corridor; when the solid has turned 4/5, go at max speed, hit Space when you're on the square, and go downwards at max speed).
I looked forward to level 32 as a reward for my half an hour of labor.
*And it was more BS trapdoors*.
No. I'm done with this. You've taken enough of my time, and I thank you for levels 1-29, but not 30+. Come up with better puzzles and maybe start listening to your reviewers about the difficulty of levels, and perhaps it will be more popular.
Thanks for the feedback, gwern! I'm sorry to hear you had a rough time with the last few levels, I'll take another look at their difficulty. I'm trying to walk the fine line by being 'tough' and yet avoiding 'rage quit,' so comments like these are helpful
A very impressive display of relativistic effects. Specially the "lens" effect in "Seen" mode, cool graphic effects - looks like those gravitational lens effects around black holes I've seen in some photos.
On the negative side: it was hard to figure out the relation between space-time distortion and how you interacted with the level: more than being some kind of tool to be able to pass levels, the distortion seemed to be just a distraction for the game (kind of like "Game of Disorientation").
Also, it gets a bit boring (got to level 34).
I don't quite understand why the bullets appear to move from outside the cannon and not hit the target; that looks weird... will think about it to see if I get it.
I agree that the bullets are the most strangely counterintuitive part of this. (Which is saying a lot!)
Was I supposed to be able to beat level 40 without going through the middle? XD
Very original, challenging, and addicting concept. The soundtrack gets repetitive after a while and the story could be a little more developed, but for an educational game it's surprisingly fun!
Whoa, good work with level 40... I'm curious how you moved to do that.
total mind fuck
this game blew my mind in many ways!!! awesome game looking forward to future games like this!!!! whats after level 30? i tried to beat level 30 for 2 hrs and just couldn't! awesome game though
Glad to hear you enjoyed it! And yes, level 30 can be tough, and it does take some practice to make it through trapdoors in the warpy-seen view. And as for what is after level 30: ....level 31.
work on the art some more and you will have a great game
