This was submitted a year or so ago, but I choice all my flashes due to career choice. Long story short I don't mind these being up on the internet anymore so here they are again.

This is a video, live action, with little to no flash involved. This was one of my favorites though. In this video Fro and Nick decided to make a movie. It involves action, comedy, ninjas, cowboys, and death. I'm sure some of you will remember this and a lot of you will hate it!

It starts off very slow so please stick by the first couple of minutes and simply sit and enjoy the comedy towards the end!

Clever, surreal and funny

Well, the plot is never short of surprises in your films, I can say that for sure. I think that with the way that the interpretation of the whole film idea became a mime session really was where it took off, since you were building it up nicely, then added the forcefield gag, which still gets me in stitches. Given that you probably brainstorm your productions like this anyway, when one of you dies on the X360 and you have to take a few minute break. Perhaps a beer or other beverage was called for during this interlude, so Nick could question "Is this stuff stronger than usual?"

Right, little hints and tips aside, it seems like the video quality is better - better hardware, or bigger filesizes to blame for this? I think that it enables you to come up with much better pieces and of course, this was the sort of thing that led on to the Pyroscape saga, so hopefully it shows that you were improving at the time.

Keep it up, yada yada ya.

I believe when we made this we couldn't legally drink. :P

Funny back then, still funny now

This movie about a movie was hilarious back then and it's still hilarious today. I like how Fro comes up with some silly ideas and the "movie Nick" has to react on it, like the invisible barrier, that isn't there anymore all of a sudden.

I also like the editing of this movie. The cuts and changes of the camera angle are well chosen and it also makes it easier to follow the movie.

Only thing that bothers me is the low sound quality, but that may be the result of converting this movie into flash.

Flint and Evil

Well this one made me laugh a good amount actually. Fairly humorous since you keep adding ideas to the film that slightly annoy Nick as well. I guess you were wanting to be a cowboy and that was a reference to the Dallas Cowboys football team as you went on to play Foozball right?

Then Nick kept having to roll with your ideas as you gave them too. The gun and katana were pretty sweet. Where did you manage to get them anyways? A weapon shop? Also laughed when you got killed by him "stabbing" you in the head with a zucchini as that was unexpected along with the barrier and all.

Liked how you two were playing Resident Evil 4 on the TV, used to absolutely love playing that game as it was lots of fun. Too bad it never allowed two player capability although it could have been possibly if player two could have Ashley using weapons.

The chair Nick sat in looked nice too, plan to get one of those in the far future too. However the idea trading off was pretty funny and the sound effect added for the "barrier" was alright.

I think one thing that could have been fixed is the vocal syncing at the start. Could have been far easier if you two had recorded yourselves saying it at the same time and at the same speed, would have been less messy sounding. The ending was pretty funny since Nick looked depressed as you were filthy rich from your Billy the belt buckle movie. He then plans to get you. I guess a part two to this would be great.

Overall, would work on the vocals at the start, that and maybe could have spent a bit of time editing in more sounds to make it even more interesting. Did get a good laugh how at the start it sounded like they were going to do a parody of the game they were playing, Resident Evil 4.

Me no like Dallas :(

We got the weapons from a real Ninja and Cowboy down the street!

Resident Evil 5 actually, this is how we had multiplayer. We were playing on the hardest difficulty on a boss fight and we actually died during the video. The chair is awesome btw, I've slept on it.

The beginning vocals were a joke. DOES NOBODY HEAR THE PART WHERE I SAY, "YOU'RE READING TO FAST FOR ME TO KEEP UP!?!?"

I think a sequel to this would turn out hilarious.

Ha. Zuchini!

Ok, I'll start off with the basics of this. This isn't flash animation. I think we've already established that in the last 7 reviews. Moving on..

It needs a Pause and a Restart button, instead of just going to black at the end.

The sound quality, as in the constant white noise and the popping of the microphone/camera, really takes me away from the movie. The actual video quality isn't all that great either.

The jokes in this, weren't all that original, but they did give me a laugh and they were pretty funny. The main problem with this, is the acting. It was ok at best. I'm not a movie critic or nothing, but I really wasn't believing it. If the acting had been better, the jokes would have hit a lot harder. Even the storytelling part of the video during the actual in-movie wasn't as great, you need to work on timing your pauses and such when you do something like this.

Voltage gave a very great suggestion with the seperate audio idea. That's something I would emphasize for you in your future projects that are going to be posted on New Grounds.

This movie has tons of potential as do you.

Finally lol

Pause and Restart - Thanks, will add this on future episodes!
Sound quality - I think I know how to fix this now!
Video quality - Not possible to fix in flash :(

Ah, the acting isn't suppose to be amazing. We didn't plan any of this. We just turned the camera on and started talking to each other. We actually weren't acting, we were having a real conversation that we planned on turning into a movie. You can't really say it's bad acting when it's EXACTLY how we act in real life. :P

Thanks, I'm happy you thought it was funny!

I don't like it.

It started off a bit irritating, with both voices saying the same thing. Only one of you should talk then.

The story didn't hook me either. And that what this video is about. It was a bit boring. None of the jokes were funny either. I didn't laugh once.
Those are the two most important things in a clip like this, and if those two things aren't what they're supposed to be, it ruins the whole thing.

You played it well though. The suits were nice, and actually realistic. The mime part was done well, and the whole idea of parodying a regular action movie was a good idea.

It was not too bad, and the idea was nice, but overall I thought it was a bit of a failed experiment.

Fro responds:

Thanks
