Here is its eulogy, a collection of the kind words written about it while still among the living. They shall live on forever in its place.

"it's all a bit like the pilot Jerry and George pitch to NBC on Seinfeld. Nothing happens." - BlogTO

"Ride the Better Way is a game based on the banality of commuting via the Toronto Transit Commission [SIC]. Don't let that dissuade you from trying it out, though. It's also very creative and funny." - Torontoist

Life is hard, especially when you have to waste most of your days traveling on the subway. So I made a game about it... It's, more or less, a subway-commuting simulator. Music and sound effects are done by Matt De Luca and Lukas Guyader. For more info and behind the scenes, check out my website at and

Thanks for playing!

Good as an art game

I am a bit familiar with some of your other works, and this is consistent with your previous games. Your games truly make an impact to me, making me ponder about life's details.

I enjoyed the different options and reactions that the character could make in the morning, different characters and their thoughts(?) in the subway and the boss' comments, before they got repetitive.

i think that this game could still be better though.
Most of the choices have little or no impact at all to the game. Some scenes are monotonous and i'd rather have the option to skip them.
I know that it's part of the point you are trying to make, but i would appreciate a bit of easter eggs here and there. Like random thoughts of the character while in the subway, more detailed random events like pickpockets or perverts and mostly more interaction with the environment.

It does represent the "banality of commuting" that you quoted and the monotonous working towards a goal, so i think your game is spot on in that regard.

your next game...

...should be about a dude who's playing a game where you ride a subway for 5 hours because he has nothing better to do, but he has to quit just short of buying the car because he decides he'd rather look at porn and can't run the game in the background during private browsing mode.
