Sketch Quest is an action-platformer that uses a unique drawing mechanic to have the player customize their character. You control a character in a high-school student's notebook and earn/draw weapons and enemies as you advance through the levels.

This project was developed by five students at the Vancouver Film School Game Design program over 3 months.

Great Concept

Not a great game but a good idea. I loved wearing a kfc bucket, hitting things with a dead baby, shooting with a detached leg, and throwing dicks everywhere. (seems everyone had a penis weapon).

But the gameplay wasn't very good and a bit glitchy. so 5 out of 10.

Keep the idea and make a better game outta it.

like the idea

Just don't like the gltches! my weapons just stopped working on lvl 2, which was slightly annoying.

Good idea tho!!

Poor Platformer...

There is far too much happening on the screen to even tell what is going on. The graphics are not very good and the sounds (although I am well aware that you made them yourself with your voice) are poor. There is no story to make me push on and there is no real creativity here. I've seen these before.

The only reason I give this a four is because I drew penises for all of my weapons and hats.

Gameplay needs more attention

The idea of being able to draw much of the game is pretty cool. Unfortunately this doesn't make up for lackluster gameplay, which in all other ways seems like a rather sloppy, clunky and generic platformer (with annoying sound effects!). If you were to make a slick, fun platformer and then put the creation options on top as an extra (instead of making it the one selling point of the game, which seems to be the case here) I think that would be more effective.

It just sits there with a white screen.
