Interesting, but easy to get stuck on
- The plot makes perfect sense
- It gives another side to a story (for some reason I love it when people do that *cries happy tears*
- The mood was set amazingly
-No lag. None. :D
- It's really easy to get stuck. Just a few minutes before I was stuck, only to find you have to go back to the Elder's house and talk to him (where do these people go while they leave their homes empty, anyways? XD ) Now I have the cricket, the pumpkin, and the hammer, but no egg or mushroom.
- The music didn't fit the mood. The game feels mysterious, kinda creepy but not really (hoping that made sense), while the music really is creepy and distorts the mood of the game. Kinda. It can still be played with music on, but ti just doesn't feel right. And muting the game takes even /more/ of the mood away.
-Short game. Not that much of a problem, and honestly, I'd prefer to play a short, fun game than one that just goes on...
I think it'd help to maybe add more hints as to where to find the items (the cricket is good, it's written in "Cameron's" diary/journal... Which explains exactly where she went LoL) and maybe even change the soundtrack a bit.
Otherwise, can't wait for the next episode!
great art and story
Great game, and I hope the next one is out soon! I enjoyed Alice is Dead, and this one is just as good to me.
Some improvements to consider - I had a tough time finding the ingredients to make the man sober (mainly the cricket). Perhaps if the creature gave more of a hint (crickets find rest under furniture) it wouldn't have felt like mindless clicking. Also, the text that pops up near the bottom after every time you click an item - it was a bit maddening to click "close" after each time. Perhaps you can make the text box disappear if you click anywhere?
Again, really great game and story, I look forward to the sequel!
That's weird, a few people have mentioned the cricket, but the girl even talks about the cricket under her bed in the journal. I don't know how to make it more clear, I would have thought the egg and the candle would be the hard ones. It's always a surprise to find what people have trouble with. ^_^ Also you technically don't have to click close if you don't want to, but yeah, hindsight shows that was a poor design anyway. You can still click though, with it open.
I love this game
Like all of your games this one is amazing but short. However the amazingness outweighs the short aspect. Also i like the Alice is Dead reference
Thanks so much! Also I was hoping some people would catch the Alice references.
I just can't wait!
I can't wait for part two. This is very good, I'm already into the story. The characters are whimsical and strange(And that demon is somehow eerily cute, perhaps it's just me).
I was hoping to get more interaction with the characters, and perhaps more information on our good friend the Fenrrir, but I suppose that will come later.
Thanks, I'm really glad you mentioned the demon. He was probably my favorite character (so far). Some character will show up again and some won't, so maybe you'll get to interact with some of them more. I know some players don't like too much dialogue, and some love it. So I try to find a balance, it's tough. :P Thanks! Stay cool.
Disregard the innuendo.
Anyway, I think this game was great. I love this kind of atmosphere, just like in the others game you worked on. The art was awesome, music too, nothing really felt out of place, except dialogue.
Don't really want to be a whiny wanker, but I think you could do much better with the dialogue, it just seemed so dry and... generic. Though everything else was great, you sure know how to set a mood.
Well, I did sort of make HIS dialogue dry on purpose. Like, he isn't a human, and not terribly emotional, however I didn't mean for the other characters to not have, uh, character? I'll try harder, thanks for the advice!
