This is a short mini cartoon and a break from larger projects. I was experimenting with a limited style (on purpose) a la rocky and bullwinkle. I might do more of these in the future in this style for smaller gag based cartoon ideas that don't necessarily require a ton of animation. hope u lyke it.

*** thanks for the front page! ng*** i promise i will have some other stuff soon that is more worthy and a bit longer. thanks for your patience. Sorry if you guyz don't like it I have some different stuff coming out soon.

The animation was essentially a low budget ren and stimpy style. It works but its shocking to see how many artists completely adopt the art style of John Kricfalusi.

The joke/story was uncoordinated, and falls flat at the punchline.

The voice acting was amateur. Raising your vocal chords to the height used for the mouse is a common mistake for actors who attempt innocent voices. And the dog lacked dynamics in the way he talked.

I dont claim to be a great flash animator (im not), but ive made the same mistakes as you in my earliest work. Better to accept the criticism and refine your next project.

thanks for the crits bud.

a couple of things. The voice of the mouse is supposed to be annoying not "innocent". The dog's voice is supposed to lack dynamics, he is a suicidal character that speaks in a mumble/monotone.

As for the John K thing. I've said it before and i'll say it again. My influences go way beyond that, and it is more a combination of styles of old classic cartoons, looney tunes, tex avery, walter lantz, roger ramjet, ed benedict etc. I could write off people because they they just do things in an "anime" style, but that would be silly wouldn't it? Because we all know there are tons of different styles of manga and anime that while similar are also distinct. Such is the same with cartoons and cartoony exaggeration and caricature. Just so happens that John K was the last successful person to bring back those styles into the mainstream and take credit for them. Just like people know Miyazaki more than Gainax.

The Dog is influenced by a Rocky and Bullwinkle design with the protruding muzzle and flapping/hanging lip. The rat/mouse is a culmination of influences, and even in some cases a Jim Henson/kermit puppet influence with the mouth lip sync. Both were designed for limited use and to not have to do "specific" lip sync/mouth shapes which is more time consuming. There is a lot more going on than you might recognize, but don't worry my next projects are different than this.

I remember a day ago when this was under judgment, I gave you a 4/5!

Glad to see this on the front page!

Very impressive

But the voice's are not so good

ron and stompy

pretty good

almost epic

just two critical unforgivable flaws: no preloader and bad voiceacting

Kinda funny but a lil short.

I gave you an 8 cause I liked the premise to the toon and the style kinda reminded me of Ren &Stimpy. You lost 1 star for the length and 1 more cause I didn't think the dogs voice really quite matched the character. Overall a decent lil animation, maybe do a bit more post production editing, and a lil bit of polish on the animation itself and I believe you have the potential to be one of the great NG artists. Keep at it. 8/10 4/5*
