Wonderful Teaching Tool
As I am learning the transition to Dvorak, I found this and I am thoroughly impressed! It is, in my opinion, a lot easier to use this rather than the tutorial program I was using before and I am learning a whole lot faster.
it was fun and it did help me find where the keys were on the keyboard better :) I didn't seem to lose my combo when I typed in an incorrect word though.
Would change a few things...
As far as typing games go it's one of the better ones. Like the interface, simplicity and sound.
One thing I wasn't keen on was occasionally the word I typed incorrectly didn't break my combo. I couldn't figure out what exactly caused this so I was hesitant whenever I knew I typed a wrong key and this cost a few seconds.
Also the Americanized spellings sometimes caught me out. I would say theater or theatre, if typed, should've registered as the correct word, for instance.
All in all though I like using this game to practice my typing. I average scores around 1,700 and my top score is over 2,000.
Anyone who's saying the high-scores are posted by cheaters don't realize just how fast some people can type. I have a speed of 120WPM and have reached 2,000... Some people are capable of typing up to 200WPM so a score of 3,000 isn't technically impossible.
just one thing
i would enjoy a different point system more, it would be kinda cooler, if you would get extra time for a wright written word, and you would lose some seconds for a false one, if would give you an adrenalin rush, if there are 1, 2 seconds left, and you would have to keep going, writing words perfect to not lose completely. otherwise it works fine for me, music and controlls are ok : >
This is a fantastic typing game. I'm having a problem though. After two or three attempts, it won't let me type the words, "again," or, "start." As cool as typing to start is, a classic "Start" button would have been better. That glitch is the only problem I have with the game though.
Aside from that, the game is well-paced, the multiplier and increasing difficulty work well, and the fail effect is nice. Well done.
Ugh, that was an issue I had wayyy earlier on that I thought I fixed. Bah, nothing to be done about it now, this game is probably plastered all over the internet by now. Thanks though
