Back in 2009, I really wanted to create a game for a small amount of sponsorship. After 2 months of work, the flash game 'Dry Eternity' was created. I submitted the game to a very small flash game website and received an offer of £50. Before I could accept this offer, however, my computer's processor died. Being a lazy bastard, I didn't get my computer fixed for a YEAR AND A HALF (I survived using my grandmother's laptop with a busted hard drive).

When I finally regained access to my computer, however, the old website had shut down! I decided not to seek out sponsorship on other websites, as I did not feel that the flash was very good. Now, however, in 2011, a friend of mine (Eric "DahDoctow" Wesa, creator of the award winning 'Dem Parodeez' series on Newgrounds.) convinced me to fix a few of the bugs in this flash, and upload it to Newgrounds.

So, I present to you all of you at Newgrounds: Dry Eternity.

Just a notice, incase I forgot it in the tutorial, you unlock a new enemy to fight every 2 levels.

P.S.: If you feel like leaving constructive criticism, go ahead, but I already know what's wrong with it, hehe.

EDIT: After a bit of tweaking, I believe I have fixed the glitch that caused the game to freeze on victory. It was related to frames and instance names changing in different frames, but by making a new frame that it goes to when health is at 0, the problem has been fixed.

BIG EDIT: Dry Eternity's systems have been revamped a hell of a lot, making the game all around more balanced and fun. Thanks to the input of Kongregate users, the game should now also be bug-free!

decent game. (originally played all the way back in 2011~12, came back for nostalgia)
edit: eternal overlord achievement not working on ng player...

Thx Neon Spider for your review. I took it a bit further with the mage path and put basically everything in intelligence and maybe 10 points in vit. With this I defeated the Creator at lvl 35 by using only the fire attack (730 damage) and cure (1000-1400 healing). Had ~3000 health and ~1000 mp. Gained 18 lvls by defeating him :p
edit: really dont know why I did it but I reached lvl 255. 1200int and over 5k average damage in the end.

Intelligence is the most important stat, at least end-game. I guarantee you're not going to hit that Eternal Overlord medal without it unless you enjoy grinding for a year.

Here's why the other stats aren't as important as Intelligence. Once you're at The Creator and can reliably defeat him by just spamming Dark attacks, that is you have enough Willpower such that you don't run out and you have enough Vitality he doesn't kill you, then the only thing you should ever continue to improve is Intelligence.

Optionally you can boost Speed some if you just want to dominate, but once you're the one attacking The Creator first, you no longer should even optionally boost that.

And Strength is a joke by that point. Are you going to be dealing 4000+ damage with each hit with your melee weapon? I don't think so! But you can easily hit that spamming Dark attacks if you equip all the wizard stuff and just concentrate stat points on Intelligence.

Really, you can use and improve Strength early on if you want, and using the better swords and such, but by late game you really should be full wizard gear and concentrating everything on Intelligence.

Also, for leveling, you'll want to fight easier enemies -- a lot -- before strong enough to take the next one, etc... The game is a lot of grind.

bit disappointed with the character status
only strength and vitality is important

since intelligence still need willpower it would suffer long leveling to
mastering it and fight high health enemy

speed is useless because the number of attack wouldn't change

This game is good, but possibly due to chrome, I can't save properly. I've tried, but every time I exit the page and come back, my save file is gone and the "view tutorial first" thing is blocking new game like it is the first time you play. I've played this before and successfully saved on firefox, so I believe that your game won't save when on chrome. That's a pretty big problem if true seeing that so many people use chrome. It IS a microsoft computer, so not an apple thing. Other than that, the game is great. If there were an option to mute the music AND the sound so I can play some other song that would also be great.
