Glowing Perspective

This is a luminous addition to the puzzle genre. From the start there are new ideas that mix in tactical movement with aiming and shooting. As these ideas develop the game becomes immersive and interesting, and the ideas have been maximised to produce some fantastic challenges. The navigation levels later in the game were my favourite, combining the search for an exit with the desperate hunt for light.

To improve the gameplay I recommend utilising the ideas to make special modes, such as a survival mode with shadow orbs only and speed courses where you have to travel a certain distance with a huge but limited amount of light.

The environment has this deep mellow lucid feel to it where the faint coloured backgrounds really entice the eyes. The graphics work excellently with the audio. However the outlines to the light search beams are somewhat pixelated and rough, and could be more intricate and delicate like light naturally is.

But what I appreciate most is the audio. It's very suitable, clever and ambient. All games need background music, but this game needed suitable music, and you've chosen a great soundtrack for this game as well as fantastic mellow audio.

The atmosphere is compelling and enchanting. The ideas have been executed competently and you've made a small but fair attempt to include a storyline. However the game doesn't drive itself to maximum gear until a good time of investment has been made into a rather mundane training course, and once this is done the experience is memorable and rewarding, if shallow in places. It also needs expansion to fully maximise all dimensions of these great ideas.
