Welcome to the pilot episode of "Self-Checkout." After working so many years in retail, I've decided to share my experiences in animated form (and yes, they all really happened....okay, maybe not). Self-Checkout takes place in a grocery store, run by an incompetent manager. In this episode, the store receives self-checkout machines, and the employees fear for their jobs.

Songs used in animation:
Frank Sinatra-"Ring-a-Ding-Ding "
Reel Big Fish-"Tetris Theme"
Smash Mouth-"I Wanna Be Like You"
Charles Fox & Norman Gimbel-"Happy Days"

Good stuff

Look to see more. Good characters. Love the voice on the store manager. Sort of a Pathmark/Clerks type of mash. Hope to see it continued.

Next episode will be hitting newgrounds soon!

Oh lord yes

The angry old vet, the bitchy competitive ass kissing woman, the boss who is dumber than shit, the guy who cant speak English, getting written up for doing nothing by some guy who is so anal retentive he could turn peanut butter into diamonds! The new guy getting promoted over everyone else.

You spoke to something I have gone through, something many of us have gone through. Sadly the venue changes but the politics and bullshit never does. Working in retail had the same issues as all the years I have worked in a hospital.

Hope you make more, with smoother animation. Not bad for a pilot. Could use a bit of polish but the story and idea are top notch. Keep it up!

Yeah, keep checking back. There will be more soon. Thanks for the review.

it's ok, but the voices are bad

I can't say it's hilarious, some of the jokes were quite lame, but it wasn't too bad either. The graphics was ok except for shakeing the speaking characters. It would be a great improvement if the had some decent moves instead of just getting shaked like a papercut puppet. What really needs improvement however are the voices. They are just badly recorded. You either need a better microphone or some voice actors who have good microphones. Also subtitles would be nice to have too.

ositopolar responds:

Thanks for the constructive criticism!
