Needs some improvement
It is an impressive show of talent; however, the game play is too frustrating, and the story too simple, to hold the players attention. If you did not do this in the first place, I'd suggest getting some play testers to test your game so you can have some feedback before releasing the next chapter (or an improved version of this one).
I loved the graphics. The controls were pretty solid. The music was enchanting.
Just add some features to keep your audiences attention and this should be an amazing title.
Y I NO HAVE LIFE?!
Seriously, WTF. Of all the things you forgot, you forgot the life bar, seriously!!
A little too frustrating for my tastes.
What you've posted here, Reptangle, is the *start* of a great game - the graphics are good, the sound/music is clear and enjoyable and the controls are a little floaty but usable. It is also good that the character you provide has some useful abilities (ie a wall-jump, the grabbing of ledges) from the start and that some of the game's obstacles have clever solutions.
What I don't like, though, and hope will be fixed in a newer version will the very thing that makes playing this game pointless. The character is supposed to gather berries on her journey and they can be knocked out of her hands/pockets if she's struck by flying acorns or touches something dangerous like thorns or a nearby enemy. It's an understandable aspect of the gameplay.
So why can she not pick up these 'dropped berries' (or, for that matter, retrieve them where she originally found them)? Why do they have to be 'lost forever'?
Some enemies (particularly certain tree squirrels) are in out of the way places and this makes it very easy for the player to lose items (along with his/her patience). Fixing this annoyance (or, at least, allowing the player to pick up these acorns and use them herself) would improve the game greatly.
Bringing an idea to digital life is a grueling process but providing players with a satisfying distraction can rewarding in itself. It's why I hope that you'll take my suggestions to heart - you have the makings of a brilliant game (and believable universe) on your hands - it'd be a shame for your 'hidden talents' to go to waste.
Whatever your decision, thank you for providing us with a glimpse into your imagination. Creativity is an underused 'commodity' in our current crop of retail titles.
Not too bad
The game reminded me of a few old school games I had played before and that was a nice trip down memory lane for me. The graphic were nice and I for one liked the music.
My one problem was with the controls and such, I had a hard time jumping on enemies or getting on top of ledges from time to time and others I would try to jump and wouldn't and thus end up in the water.
I'm sure that, with some time to fix some things, you could make a sequel to this that would be amazing. All in all, not bad at all and I'm looking forward to see what else you can come up with
Well starting out i dont know what this game is about. and the controls are nice considering theres only 1 button. but the downside is that jumping is really bad, i cant contol where im going
Jumping= God Awful
Therefor this game deserves a 2/10
