Awesome game, the only problem is that it would freeze t times but only for a moment. I read a few of the other reviews and saw that they said there was a bug... I did not experience that bug so maybe I was luck but all in all it's an awesome game.

not bad, but by the time I got to wave 45, it had completely locked up and I had to restart the game.

Really fun

This game was really fun, I may of died at first but then I figured out what to do. I coulda beat the game rlly fast but I stayed to get all the achievements. I like the minigun :). I litteraly spent an hour but hey got all the achieves, only improvement would be if the achieves were on Newgrounds? Otherwise the game rocked and probably got me into the retro gaming graphics.

Driveway to Hell

Dude and Zombies is an interesting mix of a Defensve and Survival game. You can either focus on killing the zombies, but if you are decent enough you can also escape. If you play it for the "objective" the game will occupy you for a while, but after the first playthrough you might find it pointless to do replays, unless you aim at racking up some points.

Gameplay wise, the game is not demanding for somebody as seasoned as myself. Jumping and moving while firing is the essence of this game, and although you have the option of jumping on the car as a form of temporary defense I never used it. The upgrades offer all you need in order to have a game of average difficulty, the problems starting when tougher zombies appear and you took the wrong upgrades or do not have enough money for some reason to get the adequate gun. The opponents are an interesting mix of very weak rabbits to lumbering hulks (and "Hawks" as I call them). The game gets steadily harder so that you can adjust your strategy a bit and realise which opponents pose the biggest threat.

All of the guns when you buy them, in order are useful at that point in time. The minigun and Spitfire being the best "guns", however I often came back to the "Auto Shotgun" as it offered a decent spray, even if limited ammo capactiy. What I wish to say is, for a game that can go on for an indefinite time length it would be boring to mysef to go beyond the need of repairing the car and driving off. This is because once you have all the upgrades and weapons the only thing you can do is kill wave after wave untill you cannot go further. I never reached such a stage, but I can imagine that I would prefer to go outside instead of reaching that wave number.

The visual and sound design are simple but very pleasing to the mind. The swooping of "Eagles" is often warned ahead of time by their screech. Though I did not notice at first I really liked the idea of damage being reflected depending on where you would hit. Though sometimes this reached silly levels when I shot a zombie's head to the point where it's entire brain showed, and it still moved forward.

Overall the strengths of the game is a very good design and a simple idea which is easy to get "sucked into". The upgrades and weapons are all useful and there is no excess of time or money wasted on any of them. Perhaps my only downside is the nagging feeling when I play that you *have* to play as long as possible. Which to myself felt unnecessary, but when looking at the player top list the top players might be thinking differently. The game is not that hard when you want to finish the objective alone, but I do not know how long would it take for it to be actually difficult.

A suggestion or two I would make is to change the behavior of some of the zombies, instead of focusing on the player they would focus and attack the car. Another thing is an alternate game mode which is in essence "Survival", with a car "fort", but without the option of escaping in it. One game mode for the story, the other for the points. Overall for me this was an 8/10 experience.
