The Newgrounds (Xin Di) internet webpage company present an informative series on the teaching of a Chinese Language. He is very simple, so lazy American people can learn this useful world language.

These lesson is for the Mandarin (world language), not Cantonese (the People's language).

Hey, Thanks =D

This actually helps clear things up. x.x

I knew there were tones in chinese, but I never knew what everyone who told me that meant and never figured it out. You should keep doing these and teach the entire language! Bwuhahaha! ...Or whatever I don't care.

I never fully understood how many tones there are in chinese but this flash makes it simple to understand. Serious props to the voice actor because I'm betting he had to invent/contrive his accent.

I wish that people taught other languages in this way. I would learn a lot quicker. Having humor in there is awesome.

Excellent piece of edutainment. I was surprised when the informative bits were actually quite true, and held a big smile all the way through.
Traditional Chinese is the more suitable character set to learn Mandarin with imo. Not politically, but historically as well as relevancy to its origins. The benefit of Traditional is that each symbol usually gives sound AND meaning, something simplified does NOT do whatsoever. Even in PRC they're beginning to teach trad. to scholars and University students, it's a matter of time imo, that Traditional makes a comeback.
Plus, learning traditional = you know trad + simp. Much more difficult to do it the other way around.

RicePirate responds:

Absolutely. After learning traditional characters I felt it was easier to piece together words I hadnt seen before, and understand the etymology of words, ai (love) is a great example, with xing (heart) at the foundation. That being one Of thousands of examples.
