A nice twist on running/parkour games

I have to say, when I first saw this game, I expected it to be just another clone of Canabalt or Meat Boy. Fortunately, that was not the case. I found the gameplay to be quite good, and it was neither too challenging nor a walk in the park. Each level was relatively easy to beat, but tricky to master. I like how each stage has multiple paths, the most rewarding of them demanding more skill and better reflexes than the others. I found that I could easily complete each level, but getting gold was another matter entirely, requiring quite a bit of skill and patience. However, I feel that many of the levels may have been a little too easy, as I was only ever killed by spikes and hazards, never by the clock. To be honest, the only level I really had trouble beating was the finale.

Overall, the game played smoothly, and the graphics were fitting, giving the game a feel reminiscent of a comic book or superhero cartoon. I didn't stick around long enough to complete everything, but I can tell that the game has quite a bit of content. If your intent was to use this game as a sort of demo or showcase of what's to come in your XBLA game, then it serves its purpose quite well. My only complaint is that the campaign by itself was relatively short, being only 12 levels long, counting level 0 and the boss fights. I also noticed that even though the player isn't supposed to have it yet, I could use the grappling hook on level 0, though this may be just an oversight. Otherwise, I can find nothing to complain about. Well done. 5/5 10/10
