Working with the animation students at Brigham Young University has been a real treat. After much blood, sweat, and tears, we have finally completed Alight. We spent countless hours animating Sparker, the "fire boy," and Aquanna the "water girl," to get the effects and character animation looking just right. To us, they're almost real-life characters by now. We hope you enjoy this unique little piece of Flash animation, mixed with After Effects compositing.

Although I hate to admit it...

I like romance such as this for some reason.

Great Potential

I liked it but i didn't love it, the plot was rushed and if the end game was the creation of life through destruction why did you chose random violence as the catalys. I feel that you have the talent to take this short and make it into a 30min wonder if you build on the premise of fire and water and their journey to be together but not finding a way and then they are taken from each other by a force (that is explained) and their reunion in the form of the first sentient organic life.

But other than that it was amazing visually I just felt that is was to short and I was left not fulfilled.

This is an example of animation on its highest conceptual and emotional level.
Incredible, moving, and it deserves praise.

Too good!!

We are the fire, we are the water, we are the machinery that keeps the wheels of the planet turning, and yet on our advancements, and search of evolution, we destroy the basic elements that created us, only to start evolving again, within a vicious cycle...
