The Cannibals are coming in 10 days!

In that time you must build your economy to keep Robinson healthy, sane and happy, but most of all, prepare a fortress so when the cannibals come, you are defended.

This game was made in 3 days from scratch by "Team Happy Shack" for the July Newgrounds Game Jam.

Awesome game

I like the whole idea of being given a set amount of time and a goal; and you have to construct buildings to support resource production.
I generally enjoyed this game. You definitely should have had a the "Free Play" though, so people could really get a chance to explore the island without rushing.
I'd say this is an amazing product of three days of work.
Keep up the good work.

Amazing but...

You need to fix some stuff. It took a full sleep away for just killing a deer and the meat didn't even give me a inch on the hunger scale. Plus the coconuts don't help thirst. Why not, they are mostly liquid. I understand it suppose to be hard but it seems almost impossible.

Very Nice

As with everyone else I think the meters deplete too fast. And I did find one or two bugs that seemed to crash the page but I can't say for sure. However, considering that you made this game in 3 days I am very impressed. Unfortunately you do realise that now you've made this game everyone will want an even bigger and better one? including me. In that case let me make a few suggestions. Longer time period or more of a free play? The dog is almost completely useless (apart from being cute) teach it to hunt, a companion in combat or dig for treasure (something). I don't know if anyone else had this problem but I found that the farm of apple trees did nothing. More renewable food resources? More water sources? Maybe weapons? A way to build weapons? Other (friend/foe or both) survivors? Maybe a way to carry more supplies? Animals to hunt that fight back? And more room to explore. Either way great job. I will be looking for a sequel.

I got a 25,000 score.

great game and some helpful tips, build a hammock and fire first, then a small place to pray. (along the way kill deer to cook and berries to eat, there the most helpful) also i built my house near the river, so i could fish and cook them for food, get water, sleep, and keep myself happy. later on build a house to sleep in and a place to "pleasure" yourself. once here journey of to get lots of food and a bucket to take water with you. then collect all the materials to build the fort by going to ur camp and filling ur meters then going back out for resources. after this if u have time left collect more resources for a higher score. dont go off for to long without your meters being at a reasonable level, i died on day 9 because of this. hope this helps if u just want to win and get it over with, took me 3 tries.

do this or you'll die FAST!!!!

First up, walk along the shore to collect every single thing you need. Walk TO THE RIGHT Pick up some couple fruits while you're on the right so it can ease your hunger for a bit skinned the animals (you'll need'em for your fortress), then walk to the left.
By now you'll have a bucket, use it on the stream at the left most of the area. That's where you get your water. This place is also where you can build everything you need.
Build a hammock because you fall asleep very fast (you sleepyhead Crusoe) & it is better to sleep on a hammock than the cave.
After you get your sleep, build an altar. It won't do a very good job for replenishing happiness but it'll do good enough to get you on your feet.
Lastly, build a campfire (fireplace? bonfire? didn't look at the name) because cooked meat will fill your gauge much more than raw meat
The rest is up to you, but again, you have 10 days before the circumcised cannibals (I wonder how are they circumcised? Are they Jewish or Catholic or something???? Hmm... Something to think of isn't it?) so don't forget to use some of your spare time on gathering materials for your fortress.

Now my opinion on the game. It is hard at the beginning, you'll die of starvation for a couple times before you can get things straighten up. The gauge depletes really quick though, which is a pain. I wonder do Crusoe gets hungry, thirsty, depress, or sleepy that fast though (guess I must buy the book to check that out) Crusoe looks like the taller version of Larry with beard, and the dog looks similar to Pup. I don't see what can the dog do but follow you around (guess I need to buy the book) but it also tell you things about your status which doesn't matter much. Overall, it's fun, pretty good for the time you have. Nice job!
