It's a good story, but probably would've been better as a short story or a graphic novel than a video game. It was a little short, too bad it couldn't have been a little longer...
oh no.. :(
hes so sad..
I loved it.
I've never read the story "The Outsider" but after playing this, it really makes me want to go out and read it. I really loved the way how the artwork and music of the game really made you feel the anxiety and panic that the main character must of felt as well. The ending was a real twist, but I'm not going to go and ruin it for everyone else. Great game, and seeing as you guys made it in three days, you should be proud. Awesome Job, and keep up the good work!
great all over
great game and story. it was great in it simplicity it wasn't over done and the music only add to it
Very atmospheric, and faithful to the story.
Very well done, especially for being made in three days. It's very rare that I play point-and-click flash horror games that can capture atmosphere as well as this one can. I feel like you were inspired a little--just a little--by Amnesia: The Dark Descent (which I think you would really enjoy playing, if you haven't!), if only because of the notes lying around. Of course, Amnesia is very heavily inspired by Lovecraft (as are all of Frictional's games) so that's a good thing.
This is faithful to the original story and you guys did a good job capturing it in the point-and-click form. A lot of the quotes were put in the right places (trying to leave the forest, for example, was a good touch) and whenever you put in your own writing you kept it in the style the story was written.
I don't think I could ever look at The Outsider and think "Yeah, I could totally make a video game out of that," but you guys did it and proved to me it could be done. Nice.
