Wonders of the Universe - Episode 1 (Pilot) - "Human/Cyborg Relations"

Welcome aboard the flagship of the White Dwarf Line: The Wonders of the Universe! We hope you enjoy your stay!

In the pilot/introductory episode of our new series, we're introduced to life aboard "The Wonders the Universe," a galactic-class cruise ship with alien passengers and crew... but where the humans are forced to do the dirty work. It's Quintin Quasar's first day on the job, and already he feels out of place as the ship's computer helps him get adjusted.

We're very excited to not only to give you the first episode of this new series, but to continue to develop and expand this universe with short to middle sized cartoons. And we'll do our best to make sure that's not an empty promise!

Enjoy the pilot episode!

Great, but not great.

Animations, and sound effects were all great.

I thought the talking interface AI was funny at first.

But overall, the jokes were kind of lame and the intro was neither funny nor informative.

Toonwerks responds:

How was it not informative? The whole point of the intro was to inform the audience of the setting. Yes, all of the jokes in that sequence were subtle, near-hidden references to various things, but how do lines like "... a grand space-cruise liner about to embark on its maiden voyage across the cosmos!" didn't inform you of anything?

im thinking of a movie i saw

Give or Take

Thought the detail to the background was excellent but overall fell because of the story line and the humor.

Eh, it wasn't funny. I chuckled once - that was all.
Simplistic animation, uninteresting story...
The description itself is somewhat... incorrect. We are not at all introduced to life aboard "The Wonders of the Universe", merely given a brief episode in the life of what I assume is to be the protagonist.
I did like receptionist's voice acting, but the rest seemed rather forced. The dialogue itself was just... ugh. The abrupt changing of the robot's voice was not at all funny, merely annoying and unrealistic.
Also, some nice use of blurs, camera orientation and such - and this, I find rare in Flash animation.

Toonwerks responds:

!! I was starting to worry that nobody disliked this movie O_O
