Well, you certainly have 'vision' and ideas but...

Can you try learn how to draw sprites that don't look like they're drawn in MSpaint? Try look up a few art tutorials, and take more time to draw your characters. Remember this golden rule: 'quality over quantity' 5 seconds of highly polished content is ALWAYS better than 3 hours of rushed video.

ClimbLadders responds:

It, took me a month to do this, and certainly not rushed. But you know, I did sketch the whole thing out first, Drew the whole thing out next, then colored it last, along with the lip synch. I forgot to mention that the dialog took me like a day or 2. Also made my own music with it, and had to find the sound effects online. I had to edit this video twice, and convert the whole thing another 2 times, while adding a preloader to the .swf file to make it load right on newgrounds. The program (pencil) can't do that, so I had to find something that could. Trust me, a lot of effort and hard work went into this.

About the art, the program I used was pencil, and I couldn't get the vector layer to work right, so I had to use bitmap for the entire thing. Thing kept glitching and not wanting to connect, and loosing keyframes... From this point when I've made this, I only use pencil to storyboard now. I have something else to animate better with. I have an example somewhere in the news.

I had to hand draw these without any guides. I didn't have a transform tool, or anyway to edit lines with any type of ool. Remember though, this is only my second animation. I am still improving on animateing. But you know what? AFTER I made this one, i started looking for animation guides, and remembered my art lessons. I knew the basics then, but now I know even more. The comparesons now and then certainly is noticeable. How inconvenient right?

I wouldn't say it is always better. It also depends on the content. Like, If I posted something on here very detailed, and only the eyes blink, vs a less detailed cartoon that has something entertaining. Remember, both matters lol. Well, that and then some...

Thanks for the review, and your time.

the voices kinda bug me theres parts where they talk fast and unclear and i think it would be a tish better if they slowed down some.
this is alot better thin i can do dont get me wrong XD graphics are not bad love the name glock bot :D haha

ClimbLadders responds:

This is a reason I put up subtitles lol. The voices are a bit hard to understand. I was simulating an argument and fustration when I made this, thus the speed.

After going back and listening to this over and over, I think I might change some other things too. But thanks for the tip, def will slow down next time.

I guess robots are your thing, man

this was good. heavy dialogue cartoons make for a nice easy-to-watch thing and i was very impressed by the arm movements that happened while they were talking. a criticism is it looks kindof like it was drawn in ms paint, though that may be an intended style. try to have it be more smooth and without visable pixels.

ClimbLadders responds:

This was done with pencil, a free animation program that only used frame by frame animation.. It's vector animations didn't work right, and it was glitchy. Because of that, I had to use bitmaps, that MS Paint look. This was the best I could do at the time.

But Now, I'm using synfig which does nothing but vectors. If you go to my profile and look through the news, you can see what I'm working on now. It looks much better.

Glad you liked it. Thanks for review.

Pretty funny skit!

I like how you blended the music with the animation/voices. It all fits together very well! My only criticism is that it's a little hard to understand who's talking at first, but I still like it. Maybe if you put sound waves/lines coming from the door when 'Glockbot' leaves to go shoot the bird and is talking from outside (and when the animation first starts, before he walks in) it would help. Great stuff... The end cracks me up!

ClimbLadders responds:

Heh heh, thanks. The door thing is a very good idea. the next time I do something like that I will definitely do that! Since their mouth light up when they talk, I would use a red aura! really good idea.

Thanks for the review.
