fun except for....

music turns itself back on every level, got stuck in the dark, NO PAUSE button, and really what is the point of the huge timer in the corner?... this game needs work.

Enjoyed playing it, but I'm just nit-picking. I did not like the extra "unlocked next level" screen, if it was a bonus or achievement that was unlocked I can understand but it feels insulting to be told you unlocked the next level because you finished the current. Music sometimes makes the game, and I'm glad you put a mute button for music but I have to mute the music every level.
Level time can be dramatically reduced or adjusted relative to each level.
I do like that the goal is not always at the end. Like LorienM mentioned, upgrades/specials/etc would be great.
I like the feel of the game, it reminded me of old DOS platformers that I played as a kid.

Has the makings of a really good game

... but at the moment it's just pretty average. Like someone said below, no lives is a pain-- I thought that person was nuts because of the health system, but the ghosts yield absolutely no danger. It's the pits that do, and you die instantly on those! It's very difficult without a lives system. Also, could use a bit more padding in other ways-- upgrades? Special items? Secret areas? Something like that. But not bad at all.
