NOTE to MODERATORS: I know I sent an update earlier today, but that udpate was BAD :( I have to reupdate and I am NOT doing this to bother you or anything. I had no idea NG prevented updates after so many views. Please don't punish me.

man quite a challenge!

I always have high expectations for bullet games like these.

My biggest complaint is that I would have had at least a 3 second shield after being hit, moments after being hit by a laser I would suddenly be hurt again, this may perhaps be due to keyboard control as its harder to control and is easier to get hit this way, if you could add a mouse control option this may not be of concern. Otherwise a temporary shield so I can recuperate slightly and get away.

I agree with everyone else about getting money, although it wasn't extremely difficult it did take quite a while to get a single upgrade, for this I recommend making it easier to get money then adding many more upgrades, its very thrilling to save up for 3 upgrades that you really needed ever so badly.

The music did get a little boring after a while. But shit its a hard game so I had to find my own music anyway naturally.
All in all I would consider it very worth while. Learn from this so you can make fantastic games!

More Power

There needs to be a better weapon after Omni Wave to be able to 100% lvl 24... otherwise great game

how does upgrading the shield help after lvl 4?

Derrrrrp! I accidentally had the shields set to 3 no matter what.. Just fixed it.. thanks for reporting. :D

I don't know why most people are hating on this... It's great compared to some smups out there, however still have some flaws;

I found that Ion Flux was much better compared to the Omni Wave due to most of the enemies shooting back at you if you hit them. The OW covers most of the screen, hitting more enemies, therefore forcing you to dodge more bullets.

From the beginning you can choose any level you want to go to. After the first couple levels, I got the Trilaser and just went to the second last level and grinded until i got to the Ion Flux, easily allowing me to plat the lower levels and gain Attractor and Shields.

My suggestions for future games would be to make levels available only after unlocking them, however make them re-playable so that we may gain levels.

Further upgrades you may wish to include would be to include different styles of weapons, i.e. beam weapons, wave weapons, etc, as well as adding a shop where you can buy side crafts which auto-fire bullets, missiles, etc. Bomb purchases would be better too, rather than earning them only in the level.

I hope you found my review and tips useful and hope to see more of your work soon.

No major flaws

The difficulty it's perfectly balanced for me , and the graphics are attactive in retro way .The game it's catchy , you keep playing just to back to the previous levels with more powerful weapons and say "Say hello to my new Friend!!!" :P . Jus need more variated backgrounds , and improve the player Lasers effects , and maybe a boost special effect when you use the Turbo. P.s. The basic weapon have a too high fire rate making it too much effective.
